Will the Woes for Toyota Ever End?!

I hate to look like a Feverish Ford Fiend enjoying all the woes at Toyota, but for goodness sake, can they not get the ESC on a $52,000 Lexus right? ... I mean, it's apparently doing exactly what ESC is supposed to prevent. The model is the all new 2010 GX 460 ... which seems to be shown on their website as the GX10 4.6L, so I wonder is that new since the problem hit the wires. There's no mention of a GX10 on edmunds.com where the 2010 GX 460 is featured:

I'd like to know how fast the thing was being driven... You can hear the tires making a noise even before it hits a turn. It sounds kinda like the same sound you hear when you ride a bike with mountain bike tires really fast on pavement...

Man, all these new electronic steering/suspension/brakes etc etc controls are gonna make on hell of a headache for the owners down the road as these cars age and things like corrosion and general wear and tear start taking their toll. Personally, I'd rather control the car myself than have a computer do it for me.

    Well,

"In the test, the SUV was going over 60 miles per hour, said a Consumer Reports spokesman."

Well duh it's gonna slip out, it's an SUV... Also, notice that the Land Cruiser was not reported to have the same problem... Just Government Motors trying to inform everybody that Lexus and Scion are also part of Toyota Motor Corps... And what about their tractors and lifts and other products?

Is it me or all of a sudden, no more suddenly accelerating Priuses? Therefore, Lexus SUVs tipping over??

I have a 2005 2WD Toyota Highlander with ESC and traction control. I wonder if the ESC has even been activated? The Highlander has no problem taking on-ramps or off-ramps, ahem, well above the posted advised speed.

OH MY GOD!!! You mean if i make a sharp turn in my huge tank of a top heavy SUV it might tip over?!?!?!? It's NOT a sports car?!

    I'm beginning to hate EVERYONE.

    EDIT:

    Time out. SERIOUSLY?

Man, what did people ever do BEFORE electronic nannies? We must have been having near brushes with death every time we went to go get groceries.

I want to see Consumer Reports test something without traction control of any kind. I require video of them getting out of the car with ****-stained pants.

This is bugging me. Every other SUV review that Consumer Retarded has done, they've been able to show the SUV lifting a wheel.

This sucker stayed flat, and just slid a little. That's WAY more desireable (at least to me) than the damn thing wallowing around like a humpback whale. They couldn't even get it to lift a wheel while they were hooning around at 60+mph playing JDM D1 DORIFTU STYLE Y0!

After watching more videos of their tests on this thing, this is the most stable SUV i've seen in a long time.

Did Toyota forget to mail their check this month or something?

Their woes will end when the media and whoever is behind all of this stop making such a huge deal out of nothing.

Blame the unions, and various other powerful people close to them for all of this.

I never said anything about your track record. I am speaking more to the historical fleet averages.

The figures don't lie that the Japanese makes on almost all counts are measurably superior. The most critical measurement have been customer retention and overall product satisfaction.

Toyota screwed up. BUT they also get the benefit of the doubt currently. They are also getting their lumps.

Seriously. I remember they used to teach in Driver's Ed how to recover from a slide.

    Now...

They teach you that the car should never slide, and that if a slide happens, the car did something wrong, and you should sue Toyota.

"Don't worry Poopsie, the car sliding and killing 5 pedestrians wasn't your fault. The car should have never slid in the torrential downpour when you tried to make that 90 degree turn at 70mph."

Many driver's ed programs don't discuss the slide issue because recover technique is dependent on whether the vehicle is front or rear-wheel drive. Instead they recommend cautious , non jerky reactions involving keeping traction, and gradually slowing down.
