im pushing my mm6501s with an infinity kappa four amp that puts out 125rms per channel. I bought these speakrs because of their high power rating because i didnt want to have to worry about blowing anything. They sounded great at first, but my tweeters have started making weird background noises... they still play and are loud but there is a kind of rattle sound in the background when they are moderately loud... i cant tell if they are blown, or if there is something wrong with the crossovers, or what. the noise seems to be related to when there is bass in the music

You could have damaged the voice coil.(Or more.)Push in the driver and if it makes a scraching noise its toast.
