Bass Trap Plant?

I've got a tight corner and don't have room for a traditional bass trap AND I don't want something ugly AND I don't want to spend 700 large on one tube (what a rip off).
So I'm was thinking about trying this ($75 on ebay):

Looks like it may rustle at a certain frequencies.Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

This might be even better, but it's more money. I mean, look how fluffy this thing is. How could it not suck bass right up?

That probably wouldn't be very effective at low frequencies.
These are pretty affordable: http://www.gikacoustics.com/products.html"He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche -
Face, those are good prices, but that bolster foam is only $25. It might be worth trying...2 Channel

I wouldn't bother. It wouldn't be effective at low frequencies, but may help with room echo."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche

Jaxwired,
None of the objects you added to the thread would act as broad band absorbers. The plants would act as diffusers at higher frequencies and do nothing at lower frequencies. The bolster foam would be a diffuser as well.
You need to purchase a 'traditional' product or build a broad band absorber for your desired location. All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed, second it is violently opposed and third, it is accepted as self evident. -

I'd like to second what jm1 mentioned. The big tubes for big dollars provide big results. However, if you're handy at all, there are many recipes on the net for a home-brewed trap.

A high quality firm to deal with. I have 10 different traps from bass to high frequency absorbers from RT. Looking into a bit of diffusion for my back wall now.
