PSW125 not powering up

I bought a PSW125 about a year ago from a guy off of Craigslist. He'd purchased it directly from Polk online but wanted to go with a diff sub. When i first met him the sub was still in the box with Polk shipping labels. We took it out and tested it...worked great and has done so for the last year.....

A week ago I turned it on but got no lights indicating power. Long story short, on the removable plate in back, 2 of the boards have come into contact and a little bit of the "goo" at the base of one of the boards shows some charring.

Apparently the 5 year warranty can't go past the original purchaser. I have no way to get back in contact with the guy. What recourse do i have beyond buying a new sub? The speaker itself still works (I BELIEVE) so i don't want to go that route if possible.....

help

As you stated the warranties are not transferable, but you could always call Polk CS and see what they can do for you. They are top notch and I'm sure can come up with a solution for you. Good luck and let us know what happens.
