Blown tweet or crossover or both.

I have a tweeter that isnt working in my ls50's. I was going to replace it, but wanted to know if that is all that is wrong. Is there a way to test the other drivers and the crossover to make sure they arent messed up as well? I basically dont want to put too much money and effort into these. If its just a tweeter, thats one thing, but if more needs work, i might pass them on to someone more handy than myself.

Have you tried swapping the tweeters to see if the problem follows to the other speaker? That would be the easiest way I can think of.

Ive never changed a tweeter or driver. How are they connected internally? Is there any soldering involved? Just asking before I try to open them up myself.

That all depends on how they were made, my Monitor 70's tweeters have connectors that you can just pull off and it's out. However, my Monitor 10's tweeters are soldered in. Take the screws holding the tweeter out and gently pull the tweeter out of the speaker, you should be able to tell fairly easily which is the case.

I called polk and they said the monitor 10 have connectors you can just pull off. I unscrewed the tweeter, but still not sure how to pull the connector off. I tried to pull it apart, but didnt want to force it.

If anyone had pictures of these connectors, it would be helpful.
