Speaker Addiction?

Anyone besides me have a speaker addiction. I buy a set then, see another set etc. Back in the 2 channel days it wasn't a major problem. Replacing a 5 piece set gets ubber expensive.

I bought a polk rm series. after 6 months i sold all my new speakers and replace with monitor 60 front, cs2 center ,psw505, monitor 40 rear and cs10 rear center . Because i love my wife and didnt want her to kill me i`ve stop buying. I just think i had a certain system in my head and now i believe the monitor series is it. I am very happy with this system. The monitor speaker sound great and priced affordable. The tsi series is pretty much the same speaker with new name and wrapper .the tsi series are much higher cost.

Calling it an addiction would somehow suggest that I am not in control.
I could stop whenever I want, I just don't want to, right now.
    Maybe later.

Thats right, the first step is admitting I have a problem. Maybe just start a seperate 2 channel rig with some LSi-9s. Thanks, starting to feel better already!:D

If you don't have more than 20 sets, you don't have an addiction.;)
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

Thankfully if you do have an addiction this one is more expensive than drugs! Maybe if I won the lottery I would be able to support my "desires" and then form an actual addiction. Until then, its starter gear and speakers for me :(

Easy-peasy; stop buying and start acquiring. Scour roadsides on bulk trash day. If you're lucky enough to live in New England, troll the "Yankee Swap" pile at the town dump/transfer station on Saturdays.

My Allison Ones (e.g.) were dump finds. Nice speakers for $0.

Just a suggestion, of course. I am not liable for the consequences if you actually take my innocent suggestion and actually apply it.

It would be cool if someone left SDA SRS 1.2tls on the end of their driveway!

That would probably freak some druggies out as they would think they are in the movie 2001 A Space Odyssey.

I always thought that "addicts" went to classes.

No classes here. Guess I am not addicted.

Well, shoes tend to be smaller, and cheaper (I would think) than loudspeakers. They do tend to come in pairs, though, come to think of it.

that may be true, but I don't see my wife selling a pair of shoes to cover the cost of the new shoes she just bought...and I think there are upwards of 50 pairs in our TINY closet...

    sounds familiar "continued".
Some how the last reply dissapeared from my screen.
....Cavemen...." didn't have to justify their cravings...(or addictions) if that is what we're suffering from.

I'm guilty of a large old shed and a brand new one ....besides my 2 car garage...that are all filled with vintage equipmnt ...HELP! ..I CAN'T STOP..!

I'm retired (forced)....so my time is spent setting up complete systems ...fully powered and cranking them alternately (and sometimes simultaneously)
when-ever My wife buys ...(no longer shoes) ....now it's hand bags and pocketbooks...
    Y'know, the "Coach" ones...
So now I can attend all the electronic "flea markets" with no guilt.

But now I need another shed...and here comes "flea" season!

By the way ...anyone know where they are in New England?

I prefer to think of myself as an "enabler". I wait for the addict to need a fix and I help by moving their obsolete stuff out of the way... Now if I can just find an addict with some 2.3TLs... Or maybe just Fed Ex a bottle of rum over to Ricardo's place.

Yea I don't know what to do. I'm going to run out of room.

My room is only about 17x20. Carver Originals, Carver Plats Mark IVs, Carver AL IIs, Sunfire CRS 3c, Just picked up a set of the Polk 2.3TL(which should be here next Thurs. or Fri.) and I will be picking up a set of these speakers in September. Wish I had the other stuff in that pic too!!

I might have to set up shop in the garage.
