Sorry for the dumb question. Just upgraded to RM85. I called support and they advised the RM7's are the front speakers. I assume this is wrong? Placed the RM 8's as front but what is the correct placement with these speakers? Does the speaker go with the second array speakers towards center or outwards?
Thanks,
Cookie

    Hello Cookie,
Thanks for posting on the Forum. Sometimes the RM85 satellites can be used as the surround channels when a more spacious surround channel is the goal. This works really well when they can be placed on the two side walls, inline with the audience location.
But, if you want them for the front channels that can work also. How far apart will they be? This will help determine which one becomes the right and left.
    Regards, Ken

The RM8's are about 10 feet apart in the front.

    Hello,
In that case the one labeled "right" would be to the right of the TV and the "left" would be to the left. If the speakers were closer together, minimizing separation then reversing would be a good consideration.
    Enjoy, Ken

Did not know they had L/R labels on them. Let me check this out. Yep LC and RC. Thanks...

I had a very hard time setting up my RM85 to obtain the sound I was looking for. I wanted to upgraded my RM6600 setup (am a completely satisfied customer with that product) so I decided to stick with the RM product line. After several different attempts with speaker placement/angles, RM7 in front-in rear, changes to the frequencies in the AVR... I threw in the towel and replaced the RM7 with VM10 (leaving the RM8 center and RM8 for surround). I still do not have the sound I am looking for but it is a vast improvement.

My recommendation: Use the RM7 with the RM8 center up front. Place the RM8 as your surround speakers and angle them so the side speaker is directed into the listening area. You will need to play with your crossover frequencies to obtain the sound you are looking for. For me, that was very callenging given the size and layout of my room.
    Zone 1
    (5.1 Setup)
    -- VM 20 (L/R)
    -- RM 8 Center (center)
    -- VM 10 (S.L/R)
    -- DSW microPRO 1000 (LFE)
    Zone 2
    -- Atrium 45
    Denon AVR-2809
    (7.1 Setup)
    -- RM 6600 (L/R + center + S.L/R)
    -- RM 7 (SB.L/R)
    -- PSW 350 (LFE)
    Denon AVR-1909

I just bought RM85 speakers from best buy online and trying to install them, but I do not see any mounting bolts to connect the speakers to the wall brackets provided. Where can I find them?

thanks in advance looking forward to hook it up and enjoy my HT setup.
