Ceiling fan

I need a cool ceiling fan..
My den has a two blade - which looks like two sling blades....
I found a five blade for one bedroom - the blades are curved inwards - makes it look like a gyro of sorts... looks super cool
I need another cool one - with or without a light
Preferably under 200 bucks --- three blades would be nifty, but Im down for five as long as there is nothing traditional about it...
Any ideas?

Trey. It's Russ here under f*cktards name. I'll be at your house tomorrow in the morning. Talk to me, Goose!~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~

You better be!

I have the utility closet doors ready for primer almost --- sanded them down - I put some mud on the back where previous holes were - will sand it down tomorrow and will most likely prime them....
Im going to have to get Lowes to install the master bedroom door, the door jamb is 2.5" bigger on the bottom than the top- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -

I take it you're wanting contemporay/modern look?Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2

I recommend Hunter, the last 3 I installed needed no blade balancing--for anyone who has installed alot of ceiling fans, you know that's rare. I also have a couple of Hampton Bays, they did require balancing, but ran very smooth after balancing. Of course balancing isn't as important with a flush (direct) mount, but with vaulted ceilings throughout my house, all of mine are on extended "stems."Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2

Here, these are slick, ceiling fans that look like airplane propellers:

All of them are right around $200-$250. Maybe a smidge outside of your price range buy hey, they look awesome! Live a little!Expert Moron Extraordinaire

Here is another one for mouthy crybabies like Demiurge who are too grown up for fun.

$336 but it's an actual spruce blade, same thing on an airplane.Expert Moron Extraordinaire

Pun Intended! Costco has some nice models that aren't too traditional. I'm in the market too, since it's basically a necessity in SoCal if you want to get the best use of your air conditioning, but I hate the traditional fans you tend to find at Home Depot etc. ... in fact, I don't even like having lights in them.

This one is kind of neat. I have it in my rental condo. Moves a lot of air and is very quiet. Blades rotate in opposite directions.

More options: this website (Lamps Plus) seems to have a wide variety of styles, including lots of modern ones (with or without lighting). Of course, keeping pricing under $200-300 can be the hard part. $500 seems like a lot for a ceiling fan.

No kidding, Fanimation tends to have some cool ones, but fetch serious coin.

If you go to Home Depot and aren't overly picky you can easily get out for under a hundred bucks. If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -

I'll have to do that. I've been trying to avoid that store because it's too easy to spend money and my house has been maintenance free so far. -

This is my ceiling fan!
It's mounted in my ceiling!
http://www.airscapefans.com/products/Shop/Whole-House-Fans/Whole-House-Fans/AirScape-1.0-WHF-Whole-House-Fan
It was $535 shipped and about 4.5 hours of installation on a Saturday. It'll pay for itself in less than two seasons.
My ceilings are only 8 feet so ceiling fan options are very limited and not really worth while with such low ceilings.Expert Moron Extraordinaire
