I don't know if everyone knows about the "Sticky" thread in the Vintage Speakers section at . . .

    http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55888

You need a free Adobe Acrobat reader to open these .pdf files, but nearly everyone should have it by now. Scroll down the page, find the models you are interested in and print a copy (they all print on a single 8.5X11" sheet).

These schematics make it easy to see what speakers are similarly designed.

The "SDA CRS+ 1990 SL3000 Mod Sch.pdf" shows the "Classic" TL mod.

Other Schematics that compare similarly (SDA-2B, SDA-2A, SDA-1B, 1986 SDA SRS 2) allow you to insert a 5.8uf bypass cap and convert to RDO-198's.

    . . . I hope that a method for "TL'ing" the pin/blade (1987 SDA SRS 2) models can be worked out someday!

I have been studying the schematic for the 1987 pin/blade SDA SRS 2 (and also the similar schematic for the SDA-1C) and have noticed both utilize a 4.4uf cap.

I'm not well versed enough to have a clear insight as to what this 4.4 cap contributes, but wonder if its purpose is similar to what the 4.4 cap does in the 1986 SDA SRS 2 circuit. It's not in the same position in the circuit, but I'm curious if it could be as simple as replacing the 4.4 with a 5.8uf to allow for the use of RDO-198's.

Can any members with more experience weigh in on this?

    Signature Reference Series, period.

My favorite SDA, the SRS 2.

I have a chance to buy a set of srs-sda,s but I am not familiar with them. I am a big Klipsch fan but I would like to try a set of these. Can these be compared to Klipschorns ? By the way Russman , what part of N.Texas are you from ?
