The bottom of the Forums page says:

"Most users ever online was 1,155, 07-10-2007 at 04:13 PM."

I can't look back that far via search, and I'm wondering what was going on on July 10, 2007 that would get 1155 Polkies to log on at one time ?
I don't think even a good cable debate would account for half that amount.

I was already keeping me eye on CP at the time, and joined shortly afterwards. IIRC, that was when a couple of members were causing a lot of strife here, I think they were "candyliquor", or whatever the true spelling was, assisted by some other dude (maybe, I'm not sure about that part). A lot of people were getting very hot under the collar! I wonder why I even joined after witnessing that debacle!

It just goes to show you: people may say that they can't stand trolls, but it sure gets the level of "excitement" going, apparently. Threads such as "The Emotiva Story" and "Spearker Cables" usually have more views (and members viewing at any one time) than any other thread with a serious question needing an answer. In fact, it's during "war time" that threads with serious questions are frequently ignored the most.

Edit: and yes, DJ, that was also when the TBT was an active thread, including the ongoing "debate" with the Rskarvan and Sona opponents.

Could have been the storm and fun created by Spec K. I was busting a gut that night.

It's a archive of every post since the new software.

Another way of viewing the archive is to change the sort by to the beginning. That option is located on the bottom left of the page under display options you can set it for each section of the forum.

Chances are, nothing in particular was happening on that Tuesday afternoon, except that maybe a bunch of slackers were goofing off at work and it all happened to be at the same time!
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

We just had one set come through the other day. Very smart programmer as he had over 40 posts of spam posted numerous times in several forums in a matter of minutes.

Thanks, d000d, for that info. I can see myself abusing that link in the future. :)

I guess spiders/bots could account for a lot of those user stats, but still ... that's a heck of a lot of hits, isn't it ?
