7 Worlds Collide: Neil Finn and Friends Live At The St. James. Neil and Tim Finn, Johnny Marr, Lisa Germano, Eddie Vedder, Phil Selway, Sebastian Steinberg and Ed O'brien. Definitely one of the best live albums ever.

Starfish: The Church. Just a really good album, if I just walk by and pick up my guitar the first thing I play is Under The Milky Way.

Meat Is Murder: The Smiths. Brilliant Pop-craft.

The Joshua Tree: U2. Very well written, very well played and very powerful.

I don't know if I could pick just one. Maybe Rush-2112, or something by Steely Dan...

I think a better question would be....If one was to be stranded on an island (with electric and all the audio equipment one could want)...What would be the 3 groups you would take with you? You can have everything said group ever did, but only 3.

Under The Milky Way is probably one of my top three favorite songs. Absolutely beautiful.

For The Smiths, I would probably opt for The Queen is Dead. But then again, I'm a sucker for Cemetry Gates.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

Yes sir. It's one of the best theme albums I've ever heard and is recorded very, very well. At least my copy is. Plus it is one of the records I restored from the flood that took almost 1000 records from my collection with mold.

No, I'm afraid I don't. I have everything they've done on vinyl, big fan. I think Sunshine Records has reissued some of them.

Bummer, I bet they would sound glorious recorded on R2R.

I'll have to check out the reissues as I love Spirit and my LPs are getting worn out from years of playing especially when I first purchased them and played them on lower end tables although I years ago I used a Shure V15 Type V cartridge. Boy I wish I still had that cartridge. It would be a nice change to try out with what I currently own.

    It's a close one between:

Pink Floyd- Wish You Were Here

    and

    Supertramp- Crime of the Century.

I really like listening to Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park just to bring back the memories of the good old days when I was a wee lad lol.

I have an original pressing (1974) of this LP that I bought when I was 19. It is still one of the best recorded records ever! The SQ is absolutely superb even though it's 26 years old.

I recently bought the 200 gm virgin vinyl remaster which is awesome too.

This is awesome! How did you preserve it? We used to take two plays of the album of great interest to avoid static build up. The first was to clean out any "dirt" from the original pressing. The second to put onto tape. Then the vinyl was put away for archival purposes.

    What did you do?

I have an Australian SQ which I believe is quite different from the UK. Meaning to archive this very soon.

I simply kept it clean and stored it rice paper inner sleeves and outer sleeves that were supposed to let the cardboard covers "breathe" that I had purchased from MFSL when they made them available and stored them in an environmentally controled setting.

It was one of the albums that didn't get damaged by a flood we had in our basement in 2002. That one time I had to put my LP collection in the basement due to the fact that we were having some work done in the room that I usually kept them in. It was only in the basement for two weeks on top of shelves and old furniture.

My little brother had decided he wanted to restore the old furniture and placed the crates of LPs setting on the furniture on the floor never bothering to place it back on top of something off the floor and it just so happened we had a unusually bad storm that lasted a couple days that caused the basement to flood out thus getting about about a thousand LPs moist in some degree or another. Thus far I've been able to restore about 500 LPs and had to ditch about 250 as they were beyond repair. I'm still working or the rest which I can tell you is a grueling, dirty, moldy task. :(

Steve (Shack) turned me on to Vinyl-Zyme Gold about four years ago which has been a life saver for the moldy LPs. I now use it regularly when prepping used LPs.

I took meticulous care of my LPs even as a teenager. BTW I played that copy of Crime of the Century for quite a few friends here, mostly notably Billy (LibertyC) and he was floored at the signal quality and condition of the LP. There is an occasional tick or pop here and there but overall, especially taking into consideration the archaic cleaning methods I had to use at the time, it is in great shape.

    Beyond Cool, Hearingimpared.

Crime of the Century is one of my faves, so are many of the others LPs/CDs listed by others as well. I could have well posted many of the LPs that have been mentioned by the folk in this thread in my OP. Beyond the fondness of and interest in Polk speakers, it is evident that many of us within this forum has a commonality of the same music most greatly enjoyed!

CD's had just come out. College, for me was the predominant theme, and MTV actually had music videos. Those were the days.

Have the vinyl version, just need a tt to play it on. Someday.
