This was my first blu ray player, I replaced it recently. The player is in great condition. Comes with remote and original users manual. Not sure if I can find the original box though.. i'll have to do some diggin for it.

So much has been written about this panny. google Panasonic DMP-BD55 and get your read on. I copied and pasted some of the info. For those people who need the 7.1 or 5.1 analog outputs, this would be a good player for you. It was written up left and right for it's impressive analog processing abilities.

Here is the deal, the deck is $115, you pay shipping and I throw in a sealed non blu ray DVD of Star Trek movie (the most recent one).

My zip is 99223, Spokane, WA.
once boxed up.. I think it will weigh in right around 10 - 12 lbs. I will ship it Fed Ex ground.

Any questions... post them here.

Post here your interest in buying it too.

The BD35 and BD55 both feature an HD Audio Decoder (Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus and DTSTM-HD Master Audio Essential), delivering 7.1-channel surround sound through a 7.1-channel receiver equipped with an HDMI terminal. The DMP-BD55 features high-end audio components and can also output analog signals for 7.1-channel sound, so even receivers that are not compatible with HDMI can produce the newest 7.1-channel surround sound.

Both models are equipped with an SD Memory Card slot that makes it easy to transfer images from an HD camcorder or digital still camera that uses SD Memory Cards and are compatible with Panasonic’s VIERA Link function so they can be operated by the VIERA HDTV remote control.

The combination of a Panasonic Blu-ray player, Home Theater audio system and a VIERA HDTV converts the home entertainment experience into a true-to-life cinematic experience. Consumers can now view and enjoy movies the way the film maker intended -- in stunning High Definition video and audio – right from the comfort of their own home.

True-To-Life Colors
The PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus video processor was developed after more than 15 years of collaboration between Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory and professional cinema studios in Hollywood. With PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus, users viewing content on Blu-ray Discs enjoy crisp, vivid colors that are extremely close to the original. A high-precision 4:4:4 function creates video signals in which each pixel of the signal from the Blu-ray Disc is color-compensated, so when the player is connected to a Panasonic VIERA HDTV, the colors are even sharper and more vivid.

UniPhier System
UniPhier is a Panasonic-created system LSI developed by applying 45-nanometer processing to a consumer product – a world’s first. This single-chip integration technology also contributes greatly to the BD35’s world's slimmest height of 49mm.

Product Description
PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus is a high quality image-processing technology developed by Panasonic to precisely process each pixel of the Blu-ray Disc video signal in the vertical direction. It reproduces color data with twice the accuracy of conventional systems to keep colors faithful and sharp. P4HD processes more than 15 billion pixels per second and applies the optimal processing to every pixel. So that it can render progressive images superbly, expresses motion smoothly, and draws crisp diagonal lines.

The DMP-BD55 can decode HD Audio (Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD) and output 7.1ch digital audio signal. The resulting audio is studio master quality sound. This signal can be connected to an HDMI compatible receiver that does not support HD Audio Codec. Besides, the 7.1-channel analog signal converted by 192kHz D/A converter is transmitted in high quality. This signal can be connected to a receiver that does not support HDMI. BD-Live lets users access to the Internet to download data such as images and subtitles, and to join in quizzes and multi-player interactive games that are linked to bonus movie content contained on Blu-ray disc.

7.1 analog output sure seems to be missing a couple jacks... I have considered going with a Panny player so I don't have to upgrade my receiver... great players

I'm tempted... this would save me some bucks on upgrading to a new HDMI receiver while gaining HD audio. I already own Trek on Blu though so that's not a benefit for me. The only reason I'm not jumping on it is because my projector is down so I really need the money to get that fixed instead of buying a new piece of equipment...

but I could sell my current Denon 2910... dear lord. What to do.

I don't know why it isn't sold. If I didn't just buy a new blu ray player for this kind of money and a free Star Trek disc??? **** easy one here folks. Buy it before someone else jumps on it. Hell I might just because it's such a good deal.

If you are on the fence about Panasonic , forget all that , their players are top notch and I have installed this very player many times and really liked it. I found it to be the best of it's time in it's retail price range.

Love this player and the movie.

in all honesty it will not break any records for load time. it was built in late 2008.. and most players then loaded in about 30 to 45 seconds. seconds.. not minutes. :p

Mantis is right, in it's day.. it was considered to be on of the best sq and pq decks. it doesn't have the modern day wi-fi streaming of course like all of today's decks do. but it can be hooked up wirelessly if you have a bridge. this makes it very easy to download and install firmware updates.

for laughs do a search on Amazon for this deck ;) and look at the price there. no, it's not a typo.
