Well I have to admit the idea of a shrimp taco at first thought isnt very appealing but I do like shrimp cocktails so maybe it's not that bad after all sorta like a shrimp cocktail in a tortilla shell :)

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

Taco Bell's regular meat is so sub-par, I can't imaging eating their shrimp...

Exactly. Way down here in Southern California, we call Taco Bell "aftermarket Mexican food" or, ahem...... dog food.

    No thanks.

Panda Express is to chinese food what Taco Bell is to mexican...

When I was in college in BF upstate NY, I'm not ashamed to say I actually enjoyed Taco Bell considering the limited options there. Living here in Austin, TX, it amazes me that Taco Bell can even stay in business. You can't spit without hitting a better mexican restaurant or taco shack.

Those restaurants can't compete with Taco Bell on price or convenience. Pretty much goes for all fast food.

Taco Cabana is pretty close on price and convenience, and although its still "fast" food its much better than Taco Bell, at least in my opinion. But alot of the locally owned, hole-in-the wall taquer

The best burger in town is from an old place called Alf's. Back when I was a kid they had a pet monkey (or 2) in a giant cage during the day. The cage was open (fenced) on the inside, and us kids use to shake hands with the monkey, feed it food/ice cream, etc.

They've been voted "Best Burger in the County" for like...8 out of the last 10 years. Dee-licious.

Personally I like TB. Decent quick meal on the cheap. I just tried the shrimp taco today. Not too shabby. The shrimp were surprisingly tasty, BUT not worth 3 bucks IMO. I was really bummed when they disco'd the Blackjack Taco. Those were really good. My new fav is the cheesy 5 layer burrito. Add a couple packs of fire sauce and mmmmm. For .99, pretty damn good :D

I think the shrimp tacos are $1.29 around here.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

had one shrimp taco today.. because they ran out of shrimp

so I got the combo which was one shrimp taco and one steak taco with large pop for $5.79+ tax

the window person said it would take about 30 minutes to cook more shrimp

anyhoo, I thought it was ok.. even better than I thought it would be. it is fast food for petes sake. I liked the fresh tasting tomatos, salsa and lettuce.

I would order them again if I went to Taco bell on a regular basis.. but I ain't waiting 30 minutes for them to cook more shrimp. :p

*the local KFC runs out of chicken every 90 minutes too btw.

I hadnt seen a single ad for them on TV , pulled up and saw them on the menu...gave em a try. I would have to say not bad as well , I think the sauce/spices they used is what made them something I would get again...kind of like their meximelt's sauce/spices.
