I don't doubt it. I have eschewed fast food in the attempt to be healthier than I have been in the past, but i have been told Taco Bell bean burrito's arent bad at all for fast food, and are actually on the healthy side (relativly low cal, and fiber/protien to boot

Well, Philly just went through this whole health thing and now every menu has calories and some nutritional info on every menu board. Taco Bell has some really bad stuff for you, usually the stuff loaded with the processed nacho cheese. But alot of it is surprisingly decent. Calories are high but stuff but I'm betting it's more about portion size 'cause the "calories from fat" numbers are quite low. Especially compared to like McDonalds or Burger King.

Surprisingly, Wendy's has some favorable numbers as well. I read a story about it a few weeks ago when the whole thing went down here and Wendy's gets high marks because it's fast food using real food. Real vegetables, real meats and breads. Not the over processed stuff pared down to the bare minimum to maximize profit like McDonald's.

Then again, you have to take it all in context. Fast food is fast food and it's not necessarily a good choice. But some of the bad choices are better than the others. So if you are gonna choose the evil, the lesser prevails.

Me, Taco Bell is a guilty pleasure. Dunno why I like it so much, just do. After seeing the food facts info though, it's not quite as guilty as it used to be.

Reminds me, what do you call cheese that isn't yours?

    Ready?

    Wait for it!

Any shrimp found in a Taco Bell taco hasn't seen the ocean since the Pleistocene. Other than that, I'd try one.

    WTF people, really?

I don't know nor care what the people in the video were puking. It was quite offensive and has no place anywhere near other people. It was just stupid kids being stupid. It was also "Part 2" of a set of videos and offered no explanation. If you want to know, go ask TNrabbit. He posted it.

I also don't recall asking for opinions. I made a statement, that was it. If you want to post your own opinion, for or against, then do so. But dismissing it as garbage or awful is really not necessary. It's not like someone else enjoying Taco Bell is going to harm you in any way so why even bother attempting to disgust others who may or may not share your point of view?

I mean, really, grow up already. You people can suck the fun out of dysfunctional.

I've definitely seen the effects of fast food lately. We had a guy that ran out everyday to get us lunch, BK, Quizno's, Subway, Taco Bell, Pizza places, etc. He bought a house, and now only goes out on Friday to save a bit of money. I don't have time to run out and get anything myself, so I started bringing my own lunch 4 days a week. This happened around Thanksgiving. I lost over 20 lbs in 2.5 months, with no other changes at all. My weight has not changed more than 5 lbs. for the last 20 years, so I never gave much thought to it, I was always about 30 lbs above my ideal wieght. Now after surgury, the doc requires that I walk 1.5 to 2 miles a day, and I've dropped another 10 in the last month. My wieght never really bothered me, not obese or anything, but if I had known it was as easy as cutting out daily fast food, I would have done it years ago.

Every day, that's bad. Once in a while, not so much.

If you are a drinker, cutting out booze will drop the waistline as well. Soda even more so, even if you drink diet soda. Cutting out fast food and soda will drop your sodium levels too.

I could probably, easily drop 20 pounds if I cut out all my bad eating habits. But I like cheesesteaks and hoagies too much to do that. Beer too. So I just gotta stay more active to cover the extra calories.

Back on topic. I had a shrimp taco the other day. Not bad. Big pieces of shrimp but they weren't very shrimp tasting. Texture was there but no shrimp flavor. So while the sauce and pico was good, I won't pay that much for a taco from the bell again. And I looooooove me some taco bell. It's also my guilty pleasure.

Yeah... though I find the concept of getting "Pacific shrimp" tacos distasteful when I live on the Gulf Coast (where the shrimp are plentiful and delicious), I tried one last week. It tastes about like you'd think shrimp from Taco Bell would taste. Definitely not worth $3.

That was my reaction. Although I did find them utterly disgusting as well. I doubt these last.

I think they were only released because every year this time, Taco Bell gets it's butt kicked by the other fast food competitors that offer some type of fish sandwich. That's mainly because it is Lent and with this country being predominantly...well, more like overwhelmingly Christian and the two largest denominations are Roman Catholic and Protestant. Taco Bell potentially loses a good 75% of the 300 million+ population in this country. Not a big deal but when you crunch the numbers, losing just the Fridays from the 6-6.5 weeks of Lent equates to millions of dollars in profit across the country. Can't imagine how much of a hit they take globally.

They should just make a fish taco. Probably a better idea than the shrimp taco. Especially since a fish taco is a pretty common thing in Mexican cuisine.

It's not that bad... I ate 3 the other day and it definitely has the shrimp "flavor" and smell.

I wouldn't mind eating it again. It's the lesser of many evils on Friday since I can't have meat....lol

Yeah, me too but think of the implications when trying to market "Fish Tacos" with all the toilet humor and innuendos surrounding the term. I mean, sure, it might fly in Japan but the rest of the English speaking world will likely giggle like Beavis and Butthead at the thought.
