I wish I was closer to you. That way you could hear these babies sing. I have the entry level Maggies and they sound amazing. Over the last few months I have upgraded almost everything in my system. I feel like I am a "born again" audiophile. You've heard the analogy about speakers sounding like they have a blanket on them masking/dulling the sound. Well, there is truth to that for these speakers for sure. The analogy I would use is.......
It's like doing an A/B demo of an old school 480i crt tv vs a 1080p tv hooked up to BluRay.
The difference in sound quality was that much for me going from a traditional box speaker to the Maggies. It does take a little time to dial them in but man is it worth it. The only hassle if you can really call auditioning numerous subs a hassle, is finding a sub that was as musical as the Maggies for bass. These SMG's have some bass but not anything substantial. They do have weak spots just like any speakers or electronics but is easily overlooked due to the outstanding overall musicality. I'm glad I slowed down on this audio journey long enough to really appreciate what I am after most.........audio nirvana. I'm at the point where I am in awe and wondering, "If it sounds this good now, what am I in for later down the road in my travels". -
Shame you don't live closer , we have a few pairs of Maggies on the floor and I know 2 pairs have been their over a year. You could get a nice discount with a walk in.
PM me maybe we could set something up , might be well worth it.Dan
