Dodd Tube Equipment!

I was laid off in December and can not presently justify having such an elaborate, high end secondary system in my office. So, I am offering these items up for sale here on CP (since I bought all three pieces I'm selling from fellow polkies).

The first two I'd like to sell as a pair since they mate so well together:

• Dodd Dual Mono 50w Tube Amp
I purchased this from haimoc about 10 months ago. It was recently sent into Gary Dodd who replaced a transformer and went through the entire amp inside and out. He gave it a perfect bill of health. This will ship with exactly what I got it with including one quad of Mullard EL34s, a secondary quad of East German National Electronics EL34s, a quad of GE 7044s and a secondary quad of United 7044s. Will also include the power cable.

You can also watch a 360 degree video I made of the amp:

• Dodd ELP Preamp
Great sounding tube preamp that I bought from ALL212 (who bought it from DKG999). This has been one of the more impressive preamps I've ever heard. And the build quality is superb. I will include a pair of Bugle Boy 6DJ8s (I bought for $70) and a pair of Amprex orange globe 6DJ8s (with rare A getter) made in Holland (purchased for $75/pair).

Here's a pic of the two pieces in my rig:

I also have a video of the preamp:

I'm looking to get $1,500 for the pair which is right around what I have invested in the system thanks to some good deals by fellow Polk members. Buyer pays for shipping, but I will absorb Paypal fee.

I am not looking to split these items up at the moment because, as I said above, the synergy between these two components is magic. Three people have already called dibs on the ELP if I decide to break the pair up.

I am also selling my:

• Aragon D2A MKII (the sought after model with external power supply)
It has served me well for many years, but it's time to move on to something else. You can read about it here:

Aragon D2A MKII

You can see it in a few pics above. If you want better pics, I'll try to take some. I am asking $300 for it.

Let me know if you have any questions, and I'll be happy to answer them. Many people on the forum can vouch for me (and many of them have heard how great this equipment sounds in my setup).

Thanks!

Another amp I should have never sold. That's a hell of a deal.

Seconded. If you decide to split them up, I may take the ELP.

I miss the Dodd ELP that I had(on loan from Kex) for a short time. That was really a great sounding preamp.

I wish I had the coin...I'd be snagging this combo up in a heartbeat. That Dodd gear is some sexy looking stuff!!

Good luck with the sale, Blake.:)

    Hey Blake,

What's the status of this sale? Are these still available as a combo?

    UPDATE:

Still waiting on the person who got to me first (someone who is local to me and also here on the forum). Should know in the next few hours. Next in line is TOOLFORLIFEFAN who put dibs in just a few minutes after the first person for both pieces.

After that, all I have is people who have dibs on one piece or another if I decide to split them up. I'll be honest and say that I probably won't split them up. I think I have enough interest between the forum and other sources for both pieces that they will be sold together. I do appreciate everyone's interest though!

TOOLFORLIFEFAN, I will PM as soon as I know anything. Thanks for your patience.

Common ground question: Haimoc used a multimeter to measure the resistance between the two negative binding posts and it read 0. That SHOULD mean it's common ground, but I can't absolutely 100% guarantee that's the case. Since my brother has my multimeter right now (AHEM!!!), I can't check myself.

Gary Dodd should be able to answer that question.

Yes, I confirmed that I did this measurement following instructions from Polk members.
