OK, I gotta stick my nose in here about payment.

Communication is key and there have been several times where a fairly high-dollar item has come up for sale that I was interested in but other priorities prevented funding from being immediately available. In an effort to hopefully not miss out on a deal while waiting for the next pay period, I have asked sellers to work out payment plans. Needless to say, I have a cherry Adcom pre-amp, a pair of Silver 7t's and a pair of original Amazings to my credit and all have been purchased on a payment plan.

There's other stuff too but it was all bought so long ago, I can't remember for sure. There was a brief period where, for some reason, I would mail a payment out only to have it returned for "lack of postage". Even when I know I put a stamp on the envelope and I could see where the old stamp had literally been torn away. I know one deal with RuSsMaN that was going south because of a less-than-honest postal worker. A complaint to the Post Office and mailing of the payment from a different office quickly remedied the issue and the transaction completed successfully.

As far as a "local pickup only" sale goes, that means local pickup only. The only way I will ever ask if it can be shipped is if I would like to own it and the seller has had no activity for a good period of time. Then, the situation might change. But, if I can't afford it and can't make good on the deal within 3 months, then I won't go for it. A roof over my head, food in my belly and clothes on my back are more important and then any piece of audio gear.

I do agree with this. I have done the payment plan as well but I have discussed it in great detail with the seller prior and they agreed upon it. Not something I would normally do but it was a great deal and still even offered them a 100.00 deposit that would be theirs if I would not follow thru on the deal. I think that type of transaction is fair but it is not fair to say I'll take it, oh the checks in the mail, oh its still coming ect and then never bother to pay for it and then ask for other stuff to be sent when he didn't even pay for the first.

    I
I could stay away from the For Sale/Classified areas as the smallest gesture on my part, but that is about it. Trust me Mark, the last thing I want is something to do with this individual in any form.

OK, fair enough, just figured I would ask.

Oh, I agree. I don't expect George to honor this chucklehead's phony ploy. He did exactly what I would have done.

"Valued" was tongue-in-cheek all the way.

be careful GG you could hurt yourself doing that with your body parts, your a big teaser, you know when that line was first wrote for the tune it was your a **** teaser, anyway the way the story goes it was either about a prostitute or a head-case just trying out drugs for the day, so I figure the analogy is correct, the dude was just Daytripping and testing the waters while dreaming of the magic closet. Now he's got a Ticket to Ride, but that is a whole nother story told round the rabbit hole.

Why don't we take this offline George. I've been approached by the actual member and I believe it's in everyones best interests to wrap it up and move on....will you do that for me please? Email me directly if that's ok so we can collectively come to an agreement, or state your displeasure in doing so.

Close the thread. I have to go to a viewing for a 48 year old bud here in a couple hours, and I won't be giving this much thought between now and then Mark. See you in the morning or something about this.

Let's keep your Hebrew out of this. Your Shebrew too, for that matter.
