Can anybody tell me a reason not to get this player to use as a CDP for $150?

    For 150 beans why not. I use my pio bdp o5fd for cd and it sounds awesome. Kills 2 birds with 1 stone so it saves on space too

    its a good player and also is a great DVD player I think too. I did use it for SACD's and it does work and I enjoy the sound. for 150.00 thats not bad at all.

    Yeah I mainly just need it as a dedicated CDP. Still waiting to hear back from the guy. In the mean time just looking to see if there is anything else out there.

    Pioneer Elite Dvd players are considered in the industry as a reference standard for both cd and dvd. I always owned a Pioneer Elite cd player and dvd player.

    For 150.00 bucks there is no question about this purchase. Like said it's a 1200.00 player when new.

    for just a CDP it is not bad at all. I love mine. The ONLY thing I tend not to like is the remote, but thats just me. If your using a different remote like a Harmony or something like that you'll be fine.

    +1, I don't care for pioneers remotes but thats my only gripe

    Yeah that's one of many advantages of my new harmony one remote. I must say it's pretty slick. I definitely had my doubts about it being able to fully control all my stuff but it does.

    The guy hasn't gotten back to me so I've been looking on the net there seems to be plenty of used options for me to choose from. I don't think I want to get used gear of fleabay so probably just going to wait for one to pop up on here or local craigslist. Pretty much just looking for a dedicated CDP.
