Got my new speakers today.

Just had to breg that I get my new system today. Paradigm studio 100's cc-690 and adp-590's. Just set the mains up since I am waiting for the basement to be done so I can move everything down. So far really like the looks of the speakers. They sound amazing with music, not as much bass as I expected, I am in desperate need of a subwoofer but blew all my money. Any suggestions on a cheap $400 - $600 sub that would give me some decent bass for movies? Gonna try out a movie tonight and see how the speakers perform. I will give you a full review when I get some listening time in and everything setup.

So you buy all those very nice speakers and want to buy a cheap sub? Do yourself a favor and return them all , take that money and buy a balanced system with a sub or wait until you can afford at least a Seismic 12 or Sub 12. This is the correct way to fill in the low bass of the Studio series not some half baked sub.
Congrads on the new speakers , just be careful what you build around them and they will serve you well.Dan

+1 on Dan's comments. Do yourself a favor and save up some coin for a sub that is on par with those Digm's. Check CL and Epray as well, sometimes you can get some real deals off those sites.

Those look like a really nice pair of towers..with very tight specs--flat response. Take your time with the sub and ENJOY the 'music' for now. They look like they probably don't need a sub for 'music'....

Congrats, that's a purchase you won't regret. I picked up a pair of Studio 100's back when they first came out. They're a really solid choice for the money. From what I've read, the later versions are even better. Very sharp looking too, IMO.
I would have to agree with the comments about the sub. Save the money to get one that matches the system you've got. I would suggest moving the 100's around a bit if you can, to see if that improves the bass response. You might be surprised. Given enough power, they can really kick your butt! Of course, if the system's main function is HT, you almost can't have too much bass -

Paradigm Studio 100's....meh, you don't need no stinkin sub.
They don't dig like you would expect. They do a nice job down low but mated with a Paradigm Sub 12 and ran in small they sound O so much better then trying to go full range.
I have used Anthem A5 amps with a Anthem D2v2 and the older D2 processor preamp and had pretty good results.
The older D2 model I used a Velodyne DD15 which is a monster of a sub and completely musical. I also set this system up as small fronts cut at 80hz. I tried a few others and 80 seemed to work best with them despite there abilities to go low. The DD15 did a much better job.Dan

i will send some pics soon still waiting to hook up my center and rears, currently just have mains hooked up upstairs until my basement is done getting carpet on saturday, then some pictures too come. Think I am gonna save and get a svs ultra 13 when the funds are available. Bass is actually pretty decent with the 100's. Very happy so far they are also very detailed in the highs and have a huge soundstage on them. Cant wait to do a more detailed review when all the speakers are hooked up. Have not really listened too many high end speakers other then in the audio stores I have visited. Currently have the logitech z 5500's for my ht upstairs lol. So yah major improvment.
