What's the difference between all the 6500 series drivers? Is assuming that higher numbers are newer and thus better an accurate assessment?
What drivers are in Monitor 10B's?
I ask beacuse I noticed that my rta12c's have 6501's and my monitor 5's have 6502's.
THANK YOU!:)

The 6511's and 6503's are 4ohms nominal. The rest are 8ohms
Edit: I think 6509s are 4 ohms also.
BenPlease. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

Different driver specs for purposes, nothing to do with older, newer or better, worse.Political Correctness'.........defined

fair enough. well what about mixing drivers, not in the same speaker, but, say, in the same home theatre setup. I know that matching the tweeters is more important, but can mis-matched drivers sound bad? For example: rta12c's (6501's), monitor 5's (6502's), and monitor 10's (6503's). Is that combo less than ideal because of the different drivers? BTW they all have sl2000's (soon to be rd0's if I can save the loot). The later SDA's had better drivers, in that the voice coils were wound differently. It makes sense that an MW6510 or MW6511 is slightly more up to date than say an MW6500X or MW6501. Baskets and materials are obviously the same.
BUT, that doesn;t mean you can innerchange all the drivers with different models, beyond just matching the ohms. All the MW drivers have that similar Polk sound but I would use whatever driver was originally used. You could call Polk an they could tell you what the next best model to use is, if you can't find an original.

Kinda disappointed in the wide range; I had expected them to be tighter tolerance.
