I couldn't sleep so I decided to make a poll. What's your main mode of listening to music?

I use a Universal player but I mostly listen to CDs as that is most of my music collection...before the rather large backlog of cassette tapes...yeah....no 8 tracks here. But yes, I did 'own' an 8 track at one point--it sucked.

Mostly
Analog from my CD player in Pure Direct mode of my AVR as a pre.
The remaining time for music is cable box music channels -digital from STB, AVR in Pure Direct as pre.

I too stream FLAC from my computer, through optical. I use optical so I can avoid any interference from my computer's circuitry and also completely avoid using its hardware which probably isn't audiophile grade. How are you running your signal to your DAC.8 Track...if you don't love the click and loss of 3-4 notes you just suck.
I want an 8 track! -

Mostly off of an Ipod with lossless files since my cdp player broke, but in a couple weeks it will be mostly vinyl. I have my tone arm, cartridge and phono preamp, so once the GryoDec's power supply is fixed it's go time- Jeremy

85% tubed output CD player, 15% Reel to Reel.
Still need to transfer more stuff from CD to reel, but the more I do the more I will use it.
Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion."
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

Nowadays I got my MacMini filled with Lossless CD and HiRez Tracks, Music Steamer II+ and MHDT Havana to my rig all controlled by an iTouch.

You didn't list AM radio so I chose turntable. Hiring the bands to play at my house may have been a cheaper alternative.

I wish you would have included FM as a source of music. That's my most common way to be introduced to new interesting music. With a quality tuner from the 80s and a roof antenna with rotor and some interesting college FM stations you have many enjoyable music options.
