A couple of months ago I got a steal of a deal on a Classe' CA-200 amp. I really like it and had no intentions of selling it. In the process of trying to acquire a Classe' preamp I was offered his pair of Rogue Audio M-120's for my Classe'. I have heard of Rogue Audio but have no experience with them. If anyone can offer any comparisons on these I would appreciate it.

Well, I never heard the Classe', but I did have a Rogue Audio 90. When I first got it I thought it sounded aweful- too syruppy and mushy for my taste. Then I started rolling in some NOS tubes and holy ****! The amp was transformed. Everything tightened up, great detail, mids were heavenly and bass was nice and solid. This amp made it on "The Absolute Sound" recommended list for a couple years, its that good.

My guess is that the M-120 watt mono blocks are going to give you the above plus more of everything. These amps are very responsive to tube rolling, so that is a huge plus over the Classe because you can customize the sound to your liking. The down side to that is that there is added expense of trying different NOS tubes and replacements. BUT once you get it dialed in with the right tubes, it makes it all worth it.

Right now I am using SDA-2's but have some SRS 2's that I plan on using if I ever rebuild the crossovers.

do your research on the m-120's, from the little i've read on them there may be some reliability problems. but once you go tubes you won't go back. see if the owner has had any problems with them.
