You need to pull out a map of the area on which these reactors will be built. That portion of the Savannah River already has the two power reactors plus the Savannah River Site reactors. The eco system in that part of the state is probably the most studied area on the face of the earth. Since the 1950's when SRS was built, there have been armies of scientist going out each day evaluating effects and studying every facet of the environment. I don't think there will be anything that has escaped their investigations.

    That's right I said it.

I like Dennis Praeger's ideals and philosophy.

Oh man are you way, way off base! I get it, you think Levin is the be all and end all of conservative philosophy. People can and do think for themselves and the Paegers and Medveds of the world come up with some ground breaking philosophies and ideas. Levin is a local boy to me and has a following, that doesn't mean that others are just copy cats. Some have been around a lot longer.

Sure after they listen to Levin and Limbaugh.
They can't hold a candle to Levin.
Have you read "Liberty and Tryanny" or "Men in Black"? Great works.
Levin worked in the Reagan administration under Ed Meese. He is the real deal.
The others are pretenders with Beck and O'Reilly being he biggest "conservative frauds".
The last two are just riding a conservative bandwagon and are as phony as a $3 dollar bill.

I do miss William F. Buckley. He was very inspirational to me.

No I haven't read those books but know of them. Praeger & Medved have both written very thought provoking and inspirational books, have you read them?

I think Rush can be a horses **** at many times.

I think we must agree to disagree here plus we should both take into account we are on the same side of the aisle, so to speak.

No I haven't read Medved or Praeger's book. Were they ever "Best Sellers"?
Levin has has several best selling books with "Liberty & Tryanny" being at the top for several weeks.

Many other radio talk show and TV hosts rip off Levin.
He refers to them as the "morning backbenchers".
Beck is the biggest ripoff artist. He is also known as the "5pmer".

Yes, you may want to broaden your horizens by reading the following link.

    http://www.bnaibrith.org/lbureau/prager_dennis.cfm

Has Levin accomplished any of the achievements or traveled the world in search of experience and knoweldge of the human condition like Praeger has?

Besides saying that anyone is ripping off a radio show format is the same as Howard Stern saying all morning shows have ripped him off and are all copy cats.

I'm aware of Dennis Prager. There is no "e" in his last name.
Let's hear from Levin. Nobody does it better now although Rush is good.

Come on for crying out loud! I made a typo in the wee small hours of the morning.

Levin's rant is hardly ground breaking or new or something that conservatives haven't been saying for years. Why is he deemed as the founder? If he was available on the radio where I live I would listen to his show too. Maybe it is available I just have real problems with AM reception in this area.

He isn't the founder, but Hannity and Limbaugh refer to him as the "great one".
All his 3 hour broadcasts are available on his website for free.

Hahaha, I thought Jackie Gleason was the "great one." Seriously though I will check him out. I suggest you do the same with Prager . . . I spelled it right this time.:D

By the way thyme is a better spelling and is a delicious herb when used properly.

Also Michael Savage is called the "great one" by Prager & Medved. Savage has been banned from England because of his views. What a bunch of crap.

Hey I was wrong about Prager, but we were too tired to notice my mistake.
He has one "e" in his name not two and not zero.:)
Prager certainly irritates Liberals with his cool demeanour.

Levin refers to Savage as the "Weiner Nation", since his real last name is Weiner. Michael Weiner is another conservative phony and it probably the most egotistcal person on the air.
That said, Levin did give Weiner some advice after being sued by Cair.

Levin doesn't mention Weiner too much any more. Levin won the ratings war.
Levin called out Cair on his show, but Cair would never touch Levin.
With his Landmark Legal Foundation it would be a slaughter and the end of phony Cair.

As I said, Levin is the man.

Well as I said I will give him a listen but I still find it unnerving that the "ratings war" and his attacks on other conservative radio hosts is akin to Howard Stern's way of doing things. Entertaining as Stern can be I don't take him seriously even though he does says some interesting things concerning politics.

Granddaddy treehugger comes out for Nuke Power

Stewart Brand, founder of the Whole Earth Catalog used to be deadset against it, now is all for it.
He says the technology has caught up, safety-wise.

Now if they can just keep the odd 20 kilos of enriched plutonium from going walkabout from time to time like in the Kerr-McGee plant, things will be.....fine.

I've seen much better photos than these. I saw a time lapsed series of photos where they cleared the site of trees in less than a week.

Similiar site prep work is being done in South Carolina at the VC Summer site. Commercial operation for these units is 2015 and 2017.

The government would have to back it in a major way. So that becomes corporate socialism. Fine if you are in France, Canada or China.

No that's not socialism my friend, it call Crony Capitialism, which most hacks in DC are excellent practioners. Socialism attempts to maintain an aura of honesty & truthfulness (a sham IMHO). Private industry can fund these projects, but why would they? DC will take their cut one way or another. Truly a shell game on the taxpayers, you lnow as in "liquor in the front, poker in the rear" :p

    Vogtle units are owned by:

Southern Company subsidiary Georgia Power (45.7%)
    Oglethorpe Power Corporation (30%)
Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia (22.7%)
    Dalton Utilities (1.6%)

I see nothing about taxpayers owning any of this project. That's why it is working.
