What about those speaker selectors?
Was thinking about picking up a speaker selector so went to ebay and found 8 pages of them!
This would seem to suggest, and partly verify my suspicion that a speaker selector downgrades sound quality.
Your thoughts on this please -

I have heard that most of them change the sound some. I do have a Adcom one at home but, I have never tried it. Some of them I have seen are not rated for big power so be carefull on the power rating on them.
I am interested in what others thing on this.Klipsch The Nines, Audioquest Thunderbird Interconnect, Innuos Zen MK3 W4S recovery, Revolution Audio Labs USB & Ethernet, Border Patrol SE-I, Audioquest Niagara 5000 & Thunder, Cullen Crossover II PC's. -

I think this takes a speaker selector away as an option for you. If I'm wrong, I may be buying one myself.Things work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.-John Wooden -
I have a Niles speaker selector switch if any of you are interested. I bought it for an experiment some time back and never got around to using it. First $50.00 plus shipping gets it.~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~

Maybe someone will chime in with the selector we're looking for. -

What do you want a speaker selector box for? With this kind of power , there is no selector that I know of that can handle that kind of power. I have seen them up to 200 watts handling abilities but not beyond that.Dan

Crap, I just pulled it out and it turns out I have the Niles SVL-1 speaker level volume control. I thought it was a speaker selector switch, my bad.

Shucks,I just wanted to drag in more speakers and make it "Easier" to play around with all this stuff! -
I found the model of the one I have adcom gfs-4. Now I have not hooked it up and it has been laying here for about 2 years now.
The manual says it can take 1000 watts peak.

I was going to use it to go between my amazings and my 2.3's on the sunfire sig. amp but I thought th amazings / sunfire sig II combo would not be good on it as the amazings can dip way down.Klipsch The Nines, Audioquest Thunderbird Interconnect, Innuos Zen MK3 W4S recovery, Revolution Audio Labs USB & Ethernet, Border Patrol SE-I, Audioquest Niagara 5000 & Thunder, Cullen Crossover II PC's. -
Ernie, PM me if you want to sell that. I could be interested. Thanks"Don't forget to change your politician. They are like diapers they need to be changed regularly, and for the same reason."

...l should be able to find one on ebay, they're cheap enough!...
-
I got mine on ebay. I still have not hooked it up. I need to one day.
When I want to reallyyyyyy get loud, i put the 2.3' and the 1.2's on at the same time. OMFG the entire place just rattles like crazy. I have 2 amps and 3 sets of speakers so i was going to put the selector between the amazings and the 2.3 but just never got around to it. I just unplug for now.Klipsch The Nines, Audioquest Thunderbird Interconnect, Innuos Zen MK3 W4S recovery, Revolution Audio Labs USB & Ethernet, Border Patrol SE-I, Audioquest Niagara 5000 & Thunder, Cullen Crossover II PC's. -

Banana Plugs"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it.
