ARGH! My daughter (God bless her) wasn't watching where her growing arms were flailing and knocked over my right surround tower. I knew something was wrong when I stood it up and heard a large, heavy thud as something hit the bottom of the wooden frame. Opened it up and low and behold.. a giant magnet fell out (sortof).
I have since learned that this is pretty much not fixable and is in need of a replacement. Polk is asking $60+ to send out a single replacement driver. I dont feel that is very cost effective so I tried to find the part number elsewhere to purchase at a lower price, but with no luck. The part # Polk gave me is RD7210-1 but I cant seem to find that ANYWHERE. Does anyone know of a compatible woofer replacement for the R30\R300 towers? I saw these and they look almost identical:

Does anyone know if those would work? Does anyone know of any compatible alternatives?

The MW6502 will not work, it's not even close. You have two options, buy the proper driver from Polk or buy the proper driver from Polk.Political Correctness'.........defined

Spend the $60 and be done with it, if the speaker is worth that too you that is.

At that cost to replace the driver in the R300...I'd personally just replace the R300's altogether, with something better. The nirvana inducer-
APC H10 Power Conditioner
Marantz UD5005 universal player
Parasound Halo P5 preamp
Parasound HCA-1200II power amp
PolkAudio LSi9's/PolkAudio SDA 2A's/PolkAudio Monitor 7A's
Audioquest Speaker Cables and IC's -
The RD part number is internal to Polk Audio.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
