My weekend project. I started with some Belkin hybrid speaker cable. You will notice there are multiple types of conductors: 1-flat, 1- large, 4-medium and 12-small (individually insulated).

Then some barrel banana plugs.

There are dual cables per side, so here you're looking at the speaker end of the cable.

I ran out of the barrel banana plugs so swithced to standard banana for the common end. The cables are covered in Bently Harris expandable sleeve.

Nice work and really cool looking conductors. How do they sound?

very clean looking cables! where do you purchase the flex sleeve?

I bought a 100' roll of the stuff off Ebay about 10 years ago. I've been using that very roll since then.
You can find braided sleeving all over the web. Brands like Techflex are a popular consumer grade. -

Did you have to strip each separate conductor?
The large and flat did not have any insulation. The four medium I stripped with a pair of wire cutter by just holding them lightly and pulling the insulation off. The small wire insulation can be heat stripped. I used a heat gun with small nozzle. -
Real nice Luther! Where did you get the barrel bananas? Any pictures on how they go tother? Solder, crimp? Great work!Carl

I robbed them off some Belkin speaker cables I got off a Parts-Express closeout buy. They used dual allen screws to "smash" the wire. I removed the allen screws and soldered them on.
Do a search for BFA Banana plug or connectors and you'll find them all over the web. -

Nice!!I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

As always, Luther, you could eat off your projects--they're so clean!
I gotta' get the hell outa' here. I'm getting "the thirst" again. -
Great work! I was wondering where you got your wire? I was looking online and I am a little confused (as usual..) on the part# for bulk wire.
Thanks! -
Very clean!
But, where are the magic mystery boxes?
H9: If you don't trust what you are hearing, then maybe you need to be less invested in a hobby which all the pleasure comes from listening to music. -

I believe this is the cable. I've used a lot of it myself and it is very, very good stuff. Smaller size rolls are available. -
