MIND.

Last weeks' conversation:

Me: There's a projector for sale in the local listings, wanna go check it out?

Wife: No.

Me: It's not expensive, we can go see it and get an idea of what the theater experience could be like in the basement.

Wife: No, I don't want to go.

Me: (getting concerned). He's only asking $400 and it includes a 100" screen.

Wife: I know you, you'll keep it a week and then you won't be happy with it and you'll buy another one and you'll lose money just like you did with all that other stuff you bought. Just buy a good one now instead.

Me: (stunned) (mouth open) (jaw dropped) (loss of words) Errr, ok, I guess you're right. (YES YES YES!!)

And THAT my friends, is proof positive that God works in mysterious ways.

Not sure what I'm getting yet. I started another thread for help in selection. Right now it's between the Epson 8500ub and the Panasonic PT-AE3000.

For $2000 you can get the AE4000 or for $2600 you can get the Epson 9500ub with free ceiling mount and free extra bulb.

That's awesome! I asked my wife about buying a PJ, and she said, in no uncertain terms, "NO!", but I did it anyway and ultimately she was impressed with the result so I earned a little forgiveness (very little) ;) I'm sure she'll get me back someday.

Oh yeah, its almost V-Day--I'm sure she (your wife) will be expecting something extra special now, either that or she already has her eye on something and that was her way of buttering you up. :p

Excellent. Also I posted in your other thread but the 4000U replaced the 3K. In a toss up I would say pick one. Both are great and you will be happy with either. Get with Bizill in a few days, he just ordered the Panny and may be able to give you some input.

I have been at some dedicated A/V stores lately checking out some other gear. I'd say go with the Epson for a little more money. If there's a problem I hear they're pretty easy to work with. Plus, you get the extra lamp.

What I have noticed is you really need to spend a lot more on a PJ over mid-grade to see a big difference in PQ.

So many of us try to just get by and do loose money. Smart wife! I've never been disappointed by buying "a good one" of anything.

No Joe, that is not a miracle, it is simply how most womens minds work. I have always said on here to buy it right, buy it ONCE sit back and enjoy!

If the lot of you did it this way, you would SAVE money, have the RIGHT piece of gear the first time out, and most importantly, have a HAPPY wife!

Your insistance on buying cheap POS over & over again is what will push most women over the edge to taking your heads off & banning you to the couch!

Dan most of us have no problem with you having your dreams. However, we have a big problem when you spend/waste thousands of dollars over & over again trying to search/find it.

Now if you are independently wealthy & all bills responsibilites are accounted for, then have at it. If not, your dreams should go on the back burner until the more important things are taken care of.

And being **** has NOTHING to do with this topic. It's all about common sense & maturity.
