Not that I want to smash toes here, but honestly, if Sid want's to go with RatShack then so be it. To tell you the truth, I'm currently running a 3ft pair of their FusionAV audio cables as my IC from my CD player to my AVR. To me, they sound better than the orginal AR IC's I had. If you read up on the specs for those FusionAV IC's the build material and quaility are pretty damn good and use the same stuff and technolgy that you can buy in a premium cable (twisted design, 100% shielding, ferrite filter core, PTFE insulation, etc.) They are definitley a step-up from the RatShack Gold line!

I've got in order in with Frank from Signal Cable. Getting some new IC's for digital coax, analogue audio, sub cable, and gonna try out their MagicPower Power Cord. Order should be in within a week.

Oh and yeah, Sean & PJD, you convinced me to go try out some of the IXOS 6007P & 6003P speaker wire. Got 25 foot of each coming in within the weekend I hope. Gonna do a whole bunch of stuff with the AV rack this weekend. (See a later post for my new TnT Audio Flexy Rack design currently in the construction stages.)
Damn....8 lines...I've gotta put my sig on a diet now....

did anybody here at 14 have the funds or care for "Better" cables, or much less have a system as he does?? I know i didn't..
This is not another kid bash or you guys bash, It's just people expect a 14 year old to tell the difference of high end wire and cables and much less have the cash to buy them, when AMPS and receivers are much more fun to receive in the mail and use and look at.. He has his own idea's and theories and at that age i did also, NO adult could change my mind on certain things back then,

Back in my day... when I was 14. they didn't have high end cables.. at least not that I remember. This was the 70's too. Yeah there were seperates.. but hi fi audio cables I don't think were yet available.

Yeah you're right. Sid should buy and use what he wants. I don't think anyone here is trying to steer him wrong.. just would like to get him the most out of his gear. The potential for better sound is there.. and I know Sid would like the improvments. BUt then i'm not 14 and stuff. Yeah i have a limit to my spending too.

So Sid, enjoy your stuff. Although your upgrade path does seem to change about once or twice a day.

bottom line Sid, have fun, enjoy the whole exciting world of HT and 2 ch. audio.

The high-end cable market started to bloom in the late 70's, 1978 if I'm not mistaken. That is about the time companies like Kimber and Audioquest were getting off the ground.

I am going to buy AR cables, and IXOS speaker wire. CSi40 center channel, and 1 more Adcom GFA-545II. When I get the new center, my current center will be moved to rear center. I will then have 6.1 in my room, and later on down the road, I plan to upgrade to towers, move my current mains to back surround, and my current surrounds to side surrounds. This is my upgrade plan. Sometime along those lines I plan to get rid of the M&K, or use it in a bedroom system. This is my upgrade plan, this summer (if I dont sale my yamaha to a cousin) I will be running some Vitange Advent walnuts in a 2 channel rig at my dad's. They will be used with some POS factory cables, and a discman with a y-splitter. Now that is s***. Leave me alone, I love advice, and I took it, yet when I took it, yall still bashed me. Get a life. Ill report back when I buy the cables.

BTW - Sean is right, I posted this to say I bought another Adcom amp, GFA-535II, will be arriving sometime within the next 2 weeks. Thats all this thread was about, somehow yall managed to turn it around into a wire war. Although i guessed I asked for it when I said *please give me opinions and advice*. I should of learned not to do that long ago.

Ok lets recap...here is my NEW upgrade LIST!

I am NOT buying ANYTHING during 2004! Ok, this is why Im not buying all that much, 2004 - I need to save up for a car. 2005, im back in the game (maybe).

    1) Adcom GFA545II (Center/Rear Center amp)
    2) CSi40
    3) Center Channel Cabinet
    4) Speaker Wire
    4) Cables (AV Cables, Stereo Patch Cables, S-Video, Digital Coax, you name it.)
    5) (if funds allow) an Adcom Preamp for the sake of making yall shut up. ;)
