Looking for some suggestions for my next processor. I like the B&K 30 but before I commit I wanted to get as many opinions as I can. My new processor must have a great music section. Thanks

    kelley,
Are the ref 30's really going for under $1000 already? I'm a B&K guy as well, but some Rotel fans should be along soon to recommend a model or two to you.

If you get serious about the ref 30 try pricing one here:

Good folks, great prices and factory authorized. No affil here, just a satisfied customer. Tell Tom I said hello.

    gonzo,
What model Adcom are you recommending?
    More later,
    Tour...

Tour2ma, one went for 1090 in excellent shape (or so the ad says) last night. Normally I've been seeing them go in the 1100-1300 range in the last few weeks (used). I figure a 1000 offer will pick one up from the right desperate seller. I'll give cinemasource a call one of these days and see what they can do. I imagine new is going to be still more than what I want to pay though. Thanks

You can get an Outlaw 950 for $899. A definite winner for an NIB unit at that price.

You can get an in home no-risk trial with Outlaw, which is better, IMO, that Demoing it in store. An in store demo is virtually worthless in that it doesn't tell you what it sounds like with your gear.

Audiogon had the B&K 30 for 1090 last night. The guy had pictures to show that there wasn't a scratch and claimed it was in perfect condition. It had the gold faceplate which I don't particularly want though. There's another one going off later tonight but I wont be able to watch that one as I have to fly. There are a few that have been up as classified ads for awhile in the 12-14 hudred range. I don't doubt that an offer of 1000 would get one of them.

If the B&K does not work out. I have been very pleased with the 2/ch and surround features of my Parasound AVC2500U. I bought this from a home installer who also sold Krell and B&K and said the Parasound had the best 2/ch of everything he's had. The surround channels are just as clean and separated witch makes for a very convincing theater. The auto calibrate feature works like a champ and takes 5min to run all of the test tones. I have seen several of these in your range if your interested check it out.
