Daggum, I thought you were pulling our leg as well.~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~

AAD = Analog recorded, analog mastered/mixed, digitally processed for replay
ADD = Analog recorded, digitally mastered/mixed, digitally processed for replay
DDD = Digitally recorded, digitally mastered/mixed, digitally processed for replay

Funny. I was just listening to a CD soundtrack of Woody Allen's "Manhattan" which was pressed in 1979 and the back of the jacket said AAD. Zubin Mehta conducts the NY Phil and this CD, I tell ya, is terrific sounding.

If I listen to something and it sounds good, then I look to see if it is DDD, ADD, or AAD it might not sound as good the next time.....

Wow, I don't ever remember seeing DAD. How's it compare to AAD?
