New mute button??

Mamma bears new car starter that Santa brought her puts the Pioneer 9040 into mute for as long as you hold the button.Anyone here of this before? I've called the starter installer.He's checking into it.Maybe the frequency can be changed? Any thoughts.

    Is it really that big a concern? You hold the button what, 4 seconds a day?
