As i said before i have been getting a bunch of AR interconnects and was wondering, I got a sub cable but it's on the skinny side..
I just got a digital high definition cable today(orange connector type) and its way to long to use for my dvd i think, it's like 12 feet so i could i use this for a sub cable if it will reach?? and what is the difference between a digital coax and a sub cable?? This cable is 3 times thicker then my sub cable and would like to use it, my seller at the flea market doesnt have any thicker higher guage sub cables left... Let me know and thanks, If you say no for sub use, then is 12 feet to long when i only need a few feet??

or does it not really matter,???

I would say in extreme lengths, you should be worried. 12 feet of digital cable won't be a problem, other than all the excess you'll have around your stuff. I'm in the same boat as you kinda, but with 6 foot digital coax's. I figured better to buy them too long than to end up with them too short if you moved things around and then have to re-purchase them all over again.

I don't know if using it for the sub would work well or not. Worst case scenario would be that you have one hell of an overpriced sub cable if it works. What model of cable did you get?

Sub cables are just like analog interconnects.Digital cables are made of a RG6 75 ohm type connection.Video wires are made the same way.Composite and component.
It works..........I have done it,I perfer the sound of a analog intercoonect sub wire then a coax based one.......listen and you'll see

Great guys thanks!!! I got a acoustic research pro 2 series it's called, I found a seller who sells open box and new AR cables at the local flea market for pennies on the dollar, like 2.50-3.00 bucks a cable in packages and some sealed.. Today i got 5 cables/ optical, S video, the digital coax, analog audio and a componet video cable all for 15 bucks and all in packages
