Why don't you use this for a fraction of the cost of them Monster?

Take a look at monoprice.com and do a search on "banana plug" there's a variety of them depending on your connections size. Personally i use them.

If they are the ones with the rubber jacket , you first have to twist your exposed 1/2 inch conductors counter clockwise. Then insert the end into the bottom and screw on counter clockwise.

If it's the metal jacket model , you un twist the top off , insert 1/4 exposed copper end and fan out the wires around the opening but don't touch the threads. Use your tips of your fingers it works great. Once you have it fanned out , just screw the top back on and it will hold the conductors in place very well.

I own both types and have used them for years. They are nice banana connectors. I like the fact they are reusable.

I have some of these as well and they work pretty darn nice. Do as he says and it'll work great.

The monster quick lock plugs are great. They are a tad expensive, but to me they seem to hold the wire better than the other plugs i've tried. I found them locally at radio shack, they only had 3 sets of 4, so i needed to grab a couple sets on amazon to finish the install. I highly recommend them, and like others have said they are easily reusable and they are installed quickly with little effort.

I have not tried the Nakamichi's suggested above so I would love to get a report from a Polkie.

I will share that last year when building my own cables and researching the issue, I bought about 2 dozen GLS Locking Bananas after reading that the Nakamichi's were OK, but counterfeit.

Also, there is no mention of them on nakamichi.com

Monoprice regularly runs their open and closed type banana plugs for $ .96 a pair on their daily deal. They may not be the best, but for that price they are hard to beat.

Sorry for the late answwer. Yes, bought from the guy from Baton Rouge, La. They work just fine for me. Don't hear any difference in sound. No more $20.00 a pop at Radioshack. I recomemded the Nak. from Ebay.

From what I've read in various forums, they work great.

I just personally decided not to support the seller when I learned they were most likely making money at the expense of Nakamichi.

I just installed some locking banana plugs from GLS electronics.

I just realized the jacked the price up. I got my 24 pack for $60 not the $95 they are at now:eek:

Im really diggin the look of yours. I just got mine in the mail today. I purchased 4 packs (a pair in each) for $2.10/pair.

They go down to $1.91/pair if you get 10 or more.

Crazy how much these are marked up in your general BB or Radio Shack...unreal!

i dont feel these are built as heavy as the monster but i do like the double locking set screws. they will take 4 mm wire and the covers screw on after so you dont have to remember to put it on first lol. overall i say they are a pretty good deal for 2 dozen-19.00 shipped.

I use the regular/non-locking GLS and found them to be not so tight with the grip. Consequently, it was a PITA when I had to make changes behind the amp. I noticed that after a few in/out, the fins (around the plug) flatten and causing it to lose its grip, if that makes sense. YMMV.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I picked up a 24 pack of these bananas based also based on this thread and another I came across. Can't go wrong for the price. I like the screws too....easy to install and the wire isn't gonna come loose from the plug. Seem to gives a nice tight connection at the binding post too.

Well, ebayers aside, does anybody here know where to get decent (yet not exhorbitantly priced) locking banana plugs, or spade plugs (also locking)? Nakamichi's site has NO info about their plugs...none. It's like they don't even sell them anymore.
