I know that the LSI C is the obvious choice. I am however monitarily challanged at the moment due to recent purchases(Most of them here). So I am looking at the following centers and hope to get some input from the folks here who have been a great help to me so far. Here is what I have come up with so far and am watching in various places. In no specific order.
Polk CS 350
Polk CS 400
B&W CDM CNT
B&W LCR6 S2
Onix Rocket Bigfoot

Any and all input or suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks, Maurice

    xcapri79,

Nice looking center, but still $350-$450 and hard to find used. But thanks for the input.

I checked ebay, and polk direct. Nothing. I am using a carver tfm 24 amp for the mains, and an adcom gfa 6000 for the rest. Am in the process of purchasing a Carver Pre also. I will check out the CSi5.

    Thanks, Maurice

I would think the cs-350 would be the best match from what is listed... I have not heard one so this would be more of a reasoned guess.
The Gear... Carver "Statement" Mono-blocks, Mcintosh C2300 Arcam AVR20, Oppo UDP-203 4K Blu-ray player, Sony XBR70x850B 4k, Polk Audio Legend L800 with height modules, L400 Center Channel Polk audio AB800 "in-wall" surrounds. Marantz MM7025 stereo amp. Simaudio Moon 680d DSD

If you're going to do it, may as well do it right the first time instead of wasting money.

I would wait and save up for the LSiC. They come up used here and on Ebay once in a while too.

Do you guys really think that anything else would be a waste of money? The only reason that I wanted to do something now is that my current center is really low end, and with the upgrades I have made, it is a glaring weak spot. All of those on the short list are very well rated, with one of them actually compared to, and supposed to be better than the LSI C. That being said, If the people with the knowledge think that it would be best to hold out for the LSI, than thats what I will probably do.

    Thanks again, Maurice

You can run a phantom center for the time being. Set your receiver to no center, and the information will be sent to your main towers. Some actually prefer this over an actual center, and it will probably sound better than what you have now.

IMO, buying a non timbre matched center would be a waste of money.

Yes I do , why spend all that money on the Lsi 15's and not get the matching center? As suggested run NO center for now until you can afford the LSIC. Used ones pop up here all the time. You'll get one.

I used a CSI-a4 as a center with LSI-15's for awhile and it sounded pretty good for HT, but really fell apart when listening to music in surround, (which I almost never do ).
I'm thinking about selling it, if your interested let me know.

I'm in the same boat as Maurice. I just picked up some LS15's and need a center channel. I decided to save up for the LSIC than buying something that won't match the towers... I figured if I 'm going to do something...do it right the FIRST time....

Thanks to everyone who took the time to help me out. I am going to take the advice of the more experienced members, and wait to buy the correct center.

Although it looks like concealer may be interested and Mazeroth hasn't replied, I think this would be an option.

I've found that the CS20 matches pretty well with my 25s. I can't say it is "as good" as a Lsic, but there is no obvious mismatch. Contrary to some other suggestions I suspect the Csi5/6 will be too bright for the 15s. Just my 2 cents.
MAIN: Polk Lsi9s; Polk PSW505; Lsic (in box); Onkyo SR-875; Parasound 2250; Cambridge Audio 740C; LG BD370
    OFFICE: Polk Lsi7; REL T3; HK 3490; CA 840W; Onkyo C-S5VL
    BENCHED: CS20; OWM3s

When I first had my LSi15s I didn't have the LSiC. I used CSi5. Not a good idea. The LSi15s sounded so much better and the timbre mismatch was obvious. I'll second what Face mentioned and recommend running a phantom center until you can pick up a used LSiC in the marketplace. They come up every now and then. Just be patient.

I've also heard the Onix Rocket Bigfoot with their matching mains Rocket RS850. I think it's better than the LSiC. It's more balanced from top to bottom and has MUCH better bass.
