That clamp looks like a waste of money. The ClearAudio is a step in the right direction.

Joe, we need to get your clamp back in production. Have you found any drawings? I know a local machine shop that might do it. In this economy the pricing might not be too bad. If we could get some preorders and a few investors we'll get your clamp back on the market.

    Carl,

I have to go to a draftsman and have new mechanical drawings drawn up. I have to see when funds are available to do this again then we can procede from there. I did have Steve Monte from Quest for Sound do some investigating with a number of machine shops in China and he reported back that in order to make the clamp cost effective we'd have to have 1,000 made because delrin, brass and the sorbothane/rubber spring are really expensive but that was with the cost of an injection mold made included in the estimate.

Jesse did some research on delrin columns and it seems that the price has come down. I don't know about brass prices these days. So we'll see.

    Thanks,

    Joe

I ordered a Clearaudio clamp over the weekend from needledoctor.com. Got a note from them indicated they were out of stock, so I thought about canceling the order and ordering it elsewhere. Patrick from needledoctor let me know that they were getting one for me within the week, and offered to send it with free shipping. I always like to make a note when a company does something right.

    Kudos, Patrick and needledoctor.com!

Good stuff Mike! I'll be getting those shims out in the next couple of days.

Boy I hope Clearaudio appreciates all the business I've sent their way!:D
