2nd stage upgrade

Stage two of my upgrade:
A pic of my new rack section and Rotel 1075 amp. The amp section is open on three sides..front, back and top. The turntable rests on two 2 inch wide slats which enables the amp to breath from the top. Don't think air flow should be a problem for the amp in this configuration. For stage three the 1066 will replace the H/K receiver and the phono preamp will sit atop the H/K DVD 25 player. The Rotel line filter will sit atop the Echostar 6000 HDTV receiver. My brother will be installing two dedicated outlets this weekend. Have no idea where the hell I will put the SACD/DVD-A player..oh boy. Will do some serious cable management during stage three.
I'm curious and afraid that the LSi's might sound to dead in my den. It has wall to wall carpeting with a drop ceiling and love sofa and recliner which I feel may hamper the "brightness".

My poor RT's...They are taking a licking with the Rotel but they keep coming back for more.

Is that a pioneer turntable? Seems like it would have a problem in a corner especially with the sub in the same corner. Does it?
madmaxVinyl, the final frontier...
Avantgarde horns, 300b tubes, thats the kinda crap I want... -
madmax001,
Yea it is. Model PL115D. Damn thing gotta be at least 20 years old. Not a "reference" type piece of equipment but suffices. Just bought a new belt and cartridge/stylus for it. Still works great. Your question is a good one and I won't really find out untill I receive my phono preamp and hook it up. I had it connected to an old Sony "surround" system in my living room and am real curious as to how it will sound with this rig. Hope I don't run into problems as the psw seems to like it best right where it is.suds, suds and more suds! -
My only thought would be that it's bad to have the turntable right above the amp. Even though there's open sides, the heat is going to first rise, and essentially bake your turntable. I had the same situation with my new receiver, and I had to back the shelf down a bit to open it up for the air to flow up, then out. My DVD player would even get really warm to the touch if I left my amp on for any period of time, and I had more room between my amp and dvd player than you do between the amp and turntable.
Good luck...let us know how if there's too much heat buildup with that beast.......comment comment comment comment. bitchy. -
gshisme,
I see wires.................I see wires all the time.
Nice man to see the steps...I like it.Get that HK out soon, then hear the amp for the very first time..........good going man.Dan
My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -
I wonder if I plugged some high power speakers up to an Adcom, if I set a DVD player or VCR on top of it if I could melt through the bottum. I have a broken DVD Player sitting around that broke recently, thats my summer project! Dude, that amp is almost as big as your SUB! lol! Nice amp! Nice rig!- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

Hey guys, thanks for the comments and suggestions. I'm not particularly thrilled with the location of the amp and phono. As was pointed out by madmax and brett air flow and vibration may be a problem. Think maybe I will play with sub placement around the room and see if I can't free up the bottom section of the rack for the Rotel. We'll see how the current setup works first.
Mantis, have any tips for wire management? Or direct me to a thread on this subject. It's getting uglier all the time back there.
mX, done with that TVstand/component rack/AV medium organizer yet???suds, suds and more suds!
