It's all I use. Tubes rule, gotta use real USA iron to drive!

I used to, now I prefer gear that has less coloration."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche

+1 on the Sansui. My dad has a G-9700, and I love it. He won't let me have it though lol. I'm trying to find a good vintage Sansui amp/receiver on ebay and have been trolling thrift stores; hopefully I have some luck.- Jeremy

Vintage? Hell that is all I can afford to use! lol I think my DVD player is the newest thing I own, and it's 8 years old.--Gary--

do you know the price of 1960's Polkaudio speakers with fuse and excellent condition. someone wants to buy them so what would i ask
-
Not anymore. In the past 5 years I flew threw 1 Nikko, 1 Onkyo, about three or four Carver pre's and somewhere's around 13 or 14 Carver amps. All of those were vintage but I don't have anything vintage anymore, except for what's in the closets. I think the oldest piece I've currently got running would be the Anthem1 amplifier and I have no clue when they were manufactured.~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~

I am a certified SAE nut (Scientific Audio Electronics). It's gear from the 70's and 80's. I also have a few Bose 1801 amps from the 80's, although they are going up for sale soon and being replaced with SAE amps.

Yeah it's a Maggotbox lol:). I should give it a try again. Haven't been used for over 5 years.
I need to get a pair of K-77V tweeters for my Cornwalls. When I bought them, they had the wrong tweets and mis-matched woofers.
I ordered new x-over caps, new woofers and the CT-125 tweeters from Bob Crites.
I can't enjoy these Cornwalls with the CT-125. I MUCH prefer the K-77 tweeters from Klipsch which I had on a pair of La Scala. The CT-125 is not as lively and doesn't sound as loud. -
I love the Sansui tunas. Extra sweet.

I'll trade it to you for some of your Denon gear.I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

I haven't heard the Crites tweeters. I owned a pair of 1974 Cornies for a decade (EV T-35 AlNiCo tweeters, I think Klipsch called 'em K-77); sounded great with excellent program material and very good and/or sympathetic amplification... otherwise they could be ear-gougers.
Sold 'em when I got a pair of 846A Valencias. A pair of cosmetically nicer 848A Santiagos (shown in the earlier photo) are currently in the LR as the Valencias await cosmetic restoration (probably a long wait). The Santiagos were too cheap to pass up and sound excellent.
The Magnavox amp would be very good indeed on Cornies :-)
EDIT: Is that Sansui tuna a TU-5500? Had one of those for a while (dump find).
-
I guess my Onkyo M-508 and P-308 combo purchased in Okinawa Japan could be considered vintage by some. My Polk SDA 2Bs seem to enjoy the power it provides.
