I love O-Stock if they have what I'm looking for. I've bought small kitchen appliances from Cuisinart from them and they are top notch.

    Did somebody say Overstock?

    :D

Enjoy your purchase, Jstas! I like Overstock, too!

Man I watched that whole video waiting for her to rip that robe off. What a disappointment. :(

JHC! WTH is with all of you who feel compelled to go out & try to trump Jstas good deal and then rub his nose in it?:confused::rolleyes:

He got it for what he got it for & that's the end of it. I doubt he is going to cancel it just to save a few dollars more elsewhere.

Congrats on your great score for both you & your girlfriend Jstas. That's one NICE birthday gift!:)

Cathy, I wasn't trying to trump or rub anything, but John came in saying Overstock is awesome, blah, blah, blah making it seem like such a great price.

I though I'd check it out to see if Overstock actually had a good price on something and when I searched, I found the same computer for $450 at Lenovo. He never mentioned taxes, shipping, etc, and I didn't feel compelled to take a build all the way to check out to see the total cost. Heck, I didn't even bother to look for one of the many Lenovo.com coupons that are floating around (free shipping, $50 off, etc).

    I still don't get John's math.
    Lenovo.com: $540 + $37.80 + $37.00 shipping = $614.80
    Should be $450+tax+shipping=~$524

I simply posted so that others would realize that this wasn't the "deal of the century" or anything close to it.

Bottom line, he got a couple laptops for a decent price. Good for him. No need to create a thread about it.

Jesus, what do people care if he made a thread about it? The man is excited about a purchase, happens to all of us. Why go through the work looking up numbers just to state he didn't get the deal of a lifetime? It's inconsequential. And bottom line is, he paid less than any of the aforementioned prices from other sources. In this economy, every dollar counts.

Anyways, nice buy! My friend is a computer programmer and he swears by those laptops.

Again, you didn't read my post. The Lenovo site does not include the extra 6 cell battery for the laptop that the Overstock and Newegg deals do. Add $37.80 for the battery and shipping on top of it and it's not such a great deal.

And I created the thread to tell others about a good experience I had with a company. It's no different than anyone else who posts about a good deal they got somewhere or some other company that they had a good experience with. But for some reason, every **** and their brother has to give me guff for it but lets everyone else slide. And then I get told I'm over reacting, paranoid and rude when I call the douchebags out on it. Eff you all, I'll keep my killer deals and good experiences to myself from now on.

Nope, sorry, again, $13.72 for shipping and Newegg charges NJ sales tax. Total price from Newegg $549.67. Add the extra battery in and the price is almost $600.

    Thanks for playing.

Who else wants to play? Ya gotta beat $502.94 delivered to my door. Otherwise, just continue being an **** all by yourself and save the effort of trying to get one over on me, ok?

Wasn't trying to get one over on you. I pointed it out thinking you might like it better. I did forget about tax. The 4GB of memory is well worth the extra $10. That laptop, like most, only has 2 ram slots, if you need or want to upgrade to 4GB, you will have to buy all 4GB.

    Relax.

    Very Nice Laptop for $500.

I'm also very pleased with Overstock's customer service. I was ordering a living room rug (7' x 11'). They sent the wrong rug twice (both were returned for free). The third time they got the rug right but it had been snagged on the backing by something. Wasn't too severe, but bad enough you could see the wool fibers when the snag was pulled back.

I called customer service again and explained the situation, she said I could either return it for a full refund or keep it and they would refund 50% to my CC. I decided to keep it. Hot glue and duct tape to the backing to keep everything in place and you can't tell.

Reatail price on the rug was $700. Overstock's price was $282, my price ended up being $141

I don't see a single mention of an 'extra' battery in any of those packages, not from Newegg, not from Overstock. They only mention the one 6-cell battery that is standard. I hope you don't think that it is an extra battery just because they show a photo of it.

Agreed. The ones that need to take them are all the idiots that keep trying to find fault in what Jstas bought.
