Thanks! I'm thinking the same. audiogon suggests that their price is below market value and past experience with this store suggests that their pair are probably in excellent condition (they actually rate them an 8/10) or they wouldn't have them in their inventory in the first place. Also, like shopping for a "used" car, used hifi equipment prices at a brick-and-mortar store are usually open for a little negotiation ;)

I'm going to try and get up there this week and have a listen.

Wait until the weekend? Are you crazy? Go and audition them now! NOW NOW NOW!!! :D:D:D Oh, and have that CC handy.

The weekend is for bringing them home and auditioning them.

I am sure other Polkies would agree.

Completeley unacceptable Oktybar. ;) Shame on you for placing a movie showcase over auditioning the Everest of speakers.:eek::eek: That is about as lame as telling us you passed up an audition of SDA speakers because your wife is going into labor with your first born.:eek::eek:

(Note: PolkMaster1 is not responsible for any advertising misrepresentations on what actions a wife in labor would take when ditching her for a speaker audition. Just make sure it doesnt make the 11 o'clock news.)

FYI, Hawthorne's has had those things for a couple of months (I think I posted a notice in the "Deals thread when they came 'online) and also of note, they usually list things for 40% markup over what the 'consignment' price is, so you have some wiggle room. Also they had a 50% sale just before Xmas, but IDK if the 2.3's where in there (I think Jake may have addressed that in the above mentioned thread)

Good luck with the upgrade.... :D

We must combine our influences upon Okytabr to purchase the SRS 2.3TL. Then the assimilation of Okytabr will be complete.

What do I use to replace the SL2000 tweeters in my SDA-2 speakers? Where do I acquire the replacements?

CAll Polk CS and mention that you are a member. The drop in replacement is the RDO-194. Depending on what SDA-2 you have you can do a slight mod to the XO and use the RDO-198.
    Enjoy.
