With Cd's it always seems like i have to adjust the bass with each cd

You can't be in the Audiophile club, brother, with an equalizer.

P.S I used to love Equalizers(cerca..radio shack) One of my Audiohpile friends told me that I couldn't hang with him any longer if I put an EQ in the system.

    Dude, your all f#cked up...

First- lose the Mp3's, they're ****. Period. Because of that you are amplifiying harsh **** and torturing your drivers in the speakers. Get some decently recorded music and a real source. If you can't get the cd's, get losseless rips. If you want to file it, use a decent server/hard drive, decent card and/or decent DAC. Ipods are convenient, but more ****.

Second- TURN IT DOWN!!! Your receiver, while a decent unit, doesn't have the balls to do what you want it to. One of two things is going to happen - your going to fry it or, (more likely) your going to toast your speakers. When you overdrive electronic amplifiers, the results are nasty. Tube gear is much nicer when driven to clipping, but you are NOWHERE near ready for that yet. NAD gear, with it's soft clipping circuitry, might be a good choice for you.

Third - If you aren't getting the volume you want, you need bigger speakers and more powerful gear. Maybe look into some JBL's, Klipsch, CV's, or some pro monitors. But you will f#ck your ears up, and that is permanent damage, dude. It don't heal and get better. Anything high frequency for more than 110 dB for longer than 10 to 15 minutes will result in damage. Remember that, because it's true.

I might come off harsh, but trust me bro, been there done that.
