    Lack of remote is my only issue with these great vintage pieces of gear. Call me a lazy a$$ if you want, however I've come to appreciate the value of a remote. Russman's long stick with a suction cup on it does work, but the novelty quickly wears thin!

    I have one and used it with a CJ M50. Don't expect tight bass or razor sharp highs, but the midrange makes up for it ten times over. Smooth as butter. Female vocals are to die for. More ambiance than you could ever want. Replacement parts particularly capacitors are non existent. Might check with CJ support. Some of the original caps were the best at the time but could not hold up over time.

    Could have done without the tape dubbing. Extra switch contacts that can corrode.

    This is a relatively old thread (12 months), but I ended up buying the PV-5 mentioned with the original poster's help, sending it out to Bill Thalmann at Music Technology for a complete upgrade, and have been enjoying stellar sound waaaay beyond my $1,300 investment (unit, mods, tubes) since.
