Lenovo Core2Duo IdeaCentre All-in-One with 21.5 LCD
About $700 plus $5 shipping. Not a bad deal for what is essentially an Internet terminal. Not bad for a non-computer-savvy family member like grandma or even younger children. Get a webcam and a Skype account for long distance relatives. I mounted 4 of these with wireless mice and keyboards on LCD screen arms for an auto repair shop to use at each station to share the ALLDATA software. Worked out great.
Simple and compact. Fairly reliable and got decent reviews. For $700 it's not bad. Check it out if you're interested.

I recently purchased a Lenovo R500 laptop with a t-9600 core 2 duo that was like new from a local pawn shop. I paid $ 429.00 CND. The best purchase I've made in a long time."They're always talking about my drinking, but never mention my thirst" Oscar Wilde
