Surround Bar 360 cuts out during action scenes

Hi,

I am currently experiencing some issues with my surroundbar360 where the sound would cut out for about a second during action scenes (usually with explosions). It usually happens when volume is 25 and above. Would you guys think this issue caused by the receiver unit or the surroundbar speaker? I am currently on my 3 receiver unit.

The first unit never cut out but the center channel volume level was very low that I would have to turn it up to around 40 just to hear the dialog. Eventually this unit failed and wouldn’t turn back on so I had to get a new one.

The second unit had the same problem with the centre channel volume being very low so I would have to turn it up just to hear the dialog but as soon as the actions scenes would come on, the speaker would cut in and out like crazy until the scene is over. It cut out so much I had to have it replaced.

The third unit (my current one) seem to have a slightly louder center channel but again when action scenes come it would cut out but not as bad as the second unit.

Do you think it could be the speaker causing this?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

sorry to kinda take over your post but does your soundbar make a popping sound when you turn it on? thanks...

also i think you should call polk audios support number because that definitely should not be happening and does not happen with mine

Yes mine does have a slight "pop" when i turn it on.. I'm not sure if its normal but all 3 units I've had sounded like that when i turn it on. It doesnt really bother me too much..

It turns out that 2 of my drivers are blown on the soundbar.. and Polk is going to send out a replacement for me.

Tdio450 -how does the dialog in movies sound on your soundbar? I fine that mine is very quiet.. maybe its because my unit has issues. I'm hoping that the new one will have all the issues resloved.

to me it sounds fine. i can have it at low volumes and still hear dialog fine without other loud noises such as explosions overwhelming it. im willing to bet the issue will be resolved when you receive your new unit.

Unplug the plastic soundbar and place it on the flat surface on the street and drive your car over it. No more problem with the POS. That's what I did with mine.

Keep the console and use it as the FM radio or DVD stand alone by using the "audio out " if you have another cheap intergrated amp or amp with input control such as the Dayton amps or Audio source amps. I would not waste the good amp on it.

KYLESHUFELT, you should have been fired if I were your boss. I remember the e-mail address I was given by the guy @ POLK customer service and I talked to twice. It bears your name.

    Pictures to be added later.

Well, I guess that's why I haven't heard back from you yet? ;)
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

For those who want to spend a little more $$$ to get a SB, there is a very nice alternative: Buying 1 Definitive Technology SOLO soundbar if you dig deep enough you will find a good deal. I had mine at Vann's for $250.00 and this thing is a TANK. You will have a L/C/R to hook up to a cheap AVR such as Pio 819. Your TV sound will never sound the same again.

If you want a 5.1 sound, add another $250.00 for the back and another cheap Def tech sub such as the Def Tech Pro 60 on sale at Vann's for $168.00.

    Simple installation and beautiful sound.

Shoot me an email, and we'll get this done already...

OP, sorry for the derail; good luck getting your issue resolved.

The above is to the OP, Original Poster, not you Andrew.
