If that 1.5 is NM cosmetically, that's a hell of a good price for it. Norm has been $400 - 440.
Can't give a good opinion on the DTL-100... no experience there, but you've probably noted there are a couple threads active on "good, used CD players."
For the old Sony, pick up a "Laser Lens Cleaner" at Wal-Mart for about $12 and give it a shot. I think it's a Maxell, but it doesn't have the brand name on it. If that doesn't help, take the Sony apart (nothing to lose, right?) and clean/ lube the motor. I had same issue with my old Denon. Just wasn't getting up to speed. Bought it back to life...More later,

I am on a mission to find for purchase a pair of Polk 1.2TL's or 2.3TL's. If anyone knows of such please let me know..BigDR4497@aol.com. I live in MA.
I recently bought some Carver stuff, M1.5, C-1, and TX11 so I am anxious to start rockin!
Thanks,
Dan
I just landed a pair of 2.3's. They replace my RT2000p's and all I can say is I missed a lot
I replaced Monitor 10b's with the RT2000's and didnt know quite how they sounded. Weird is all I can say. They lacked the "warmth" of the Monitors, but had some kick **** lows that the Monitors lacked. Now I have both in one cabinet. These speakers are AWESOME. Been my dream speaker since my father in law bought them eons ago. Coupled with my Velodyne 12" servo sub I couldnt ask for more.... well, someone to move them if I ever move to a new place would be nice...
My meager system can be see in the member systems section under TurboJim__________________

Yes. I only have the first generation of SRS but play a SACD 2 chanel recording and sit back and say wow. My wife keeps wanting to get rid of them but I still have them. Would like to get a new remote controled 4 ohm comon ground receiver for them though.

jdavy,
Only? Man, we have the Granddaddies of them all. They do produce a little slack jaw every once in a while, don't they?
Since BigDan seems to be finished here, we can talk a little electronics if you want, but you might want to go to the 2 Channel area and start a thread, if you're looking for suggestions.
But why receiver vs. separates? Look what BigDan bagged...More later,

Hi, Im back,
Got the M1.5T yesterday and Im big time thrilled that it as close to mint as brand new, orig box and manual included. Whew, thankfully these ebay experiences have been great, I got boned a few months ago with a doa Pioneer 727.
Any suggestions on connectors for the TX, C1 and M1.5? Im hoping maybe some monster stuff from Circuit City will do?
Thanks,
Dan -
Great to hear that they're in mint shape, Dan. A lot of Carver amps see DJ duty and cosmetically can be pretty sad.
Yeah, you can go the MC route for your interconnects. I am looking into http://www.signalcable.com/ based on some recommendations here. Only "up-scale" interconnect I am currently using is a pair of Tara Labs for my main's AVP to amp connection. Think I heard an inprovement when I went to them, but that was a long time ago and a jump from stock RCA's.
Might take a peek at what mantis still has available from his used collection. And if you are in the mood for used, http://www.usedcables.com./ has been mentioned by some here. But my experience is pretty limited, so I can't really say which brand. You might pick a couple in your budget and start a new thread for help choosing.
What is the serial number of the 1.5?More later,

Tour, make sure you mention you are a Club Polk member if you order Signal Cable. When I introduced Frank's cable to the forum, I set up a deal for members to get an, albiet small, discount.
Cheers,

Yeah, I e-mailed Frank a while back about a couple cables and happened to mention I heard about him here. He quoted me with the discount, but did not explain why...
So I started pressing him for a volume discount if I bought six or ten and he did not respond... Hope I didn't piss him off.
Still going back to him for 5 or 6, 1m balanced IC's ... probably this month.More later,

He's does it all, himself, by hand, and still holds down a 'regular' job. Just let him know you heard the details, with the components he uses, I can't imagine he makes very much profit at all.
That's funny.

Tour,
The serial no of the Carver M1.5T is 4777. Does that make sense?
Dan -
Dan,
Yes, it is one of the early ones is all. There were two tweeks made during the run of M1.5's. Yours may include the first tweek, I've heard it came in the #4500 to 5000 range. Second came around #10,000.
If yours ever needs (or already was) serviced by Carver, they update the unit to the final version. Very good deal using Carver repair... A few years ago when I did, their flat fee of $149 included repair (so long as it is not a big ticket item), updates and return shipping.
The updates are in line with the changes they made in developing their M4.0t, Silver Seven clone. My M1.5 t came back perfect and sounding a little sweeter. But you'll love yours as is I'm sure... if you're not already.

Tour, thanks very much for the info. As mentioned earlier, I bagged this on ebay and it really is in almost brand new clean condition cosmetically. Included was the orig box and manual also in fantastic shape. My guess is the seller whom is the orig owner took good care of it. The C1 pre and TX 11 tuner are also in the same condition. They seem to perform fine under current temporary application ie crappy interconnectors and Altec 890 Bolero speakers. My quest for the Polks continues...
Any specific suggestions on reasonably priced ($30.00) interconnectors? I looked at Signal and Ixos but whew$. but I don't want to drive a Lexus with lousey tires either....
