FYI - There are two pairs of the SRS 1.2's for sale on Audioweb.com for $1,500.00 per pair. They are in Houston Tex.

Only see one pair and they're SRS's... maybe the 1.2's sold in the last 45 minutes?

Apparently he didn't learn his lesson............yet another audtion ending without him selling the item............comment comment comment comment. bitchy.

I fail to understand why some people are having such a problem with this guy and his asking price, it is after all , a fair price to ask. I have the feeling that if he started the auction at $500.00, but had reserve of $1995 you would all feel better. That is just fuzzy logic!!! If you owned them wouldn't you want to get what they are worth? And they are worth every last penny of the $1995.Political Correctness'.........defined

F1,
I'm not saying that his price is unfair. But if you have an auction end because people don't match your price, and you then try to resell them as another auction for more money, maybe I'm the one that doesn't get it.
The lesson that he should learn is that if you sticker shock your audience, you're going to see your auctions fail (as his have).........comment comment comment comment. bitchy. -
brett,
That's a fair statement and could very well be the reason they didn't sell, but he also says that he will not ship which I think is foolish and could be the reason they didn't sell. Maybe we should send him a email to tell him what he's doing wrong.Political Correctness'.........defined

I agree that his auction tactics are not very good. High starting bids and/or reserves just turn bidders off.
IMO start modest, let the bargain hunters drive up the price and let the snipers take it home and you should get a good result.
BTW Big Dan, finally saw that you wrote audioweb not audiogon... there are two SRS's on audioweb, but that's what they are, not 1.2's. Kinda funny that the same guy has two pairs up.More later,

I hear ya, but it's fuzzy logic.
That was good of you to tell him about this place. After he reads all the comments about how good his speakers really are, he'll probably keep them.Political Correctness'.........defined

Anyone else shudder when they read that considering who posted it?
Big Dan....just as an FYI...don't do ANY deal with Scott (wangotango68). The phrase "Crash and Burn" comes to mind when it applies to Scott and the way he screws people over here and on other boards with sales transactions. Other than that warning....Welcome to the boards......:)comment comment comment comment. bitchy. -

Tried to go the e-mail, PM route to Dan, but he's blocked.
Chose to stay with the "ignore" approach as long as no deals are offered to him by wt68.More later,

Thanks doro, tour2 and brett....
Music is one of the loves of my life and quality sound reproduction is a passion and without recorded music we would not have a true need for these "toys". For most of us, getting the best sound for the buck is a challenging quest and what makes it fun is learning stuff from the people in this club, F1, who are also technically proficient offering valuable info, guiding us based on their experience...
Tour2, I got the Carver stuff from ebay:
M1.5- $355.00, s&h $12.00
C1- $162.00 s&h $25.00
TX11-$150.00 s&h included
Info from Club Polk-$Priceless
Im replacing my"old system", Yamaha RX 100u, Polk SDA 2A's, which Im handing down to my 14 yr old son, with older stuff. So now I need the Polk's I mentioned earlier. I have a Sony CDP 515 cd player that is not responding to the initial reading of the disc. Any feedback on the Carver players, the DTL 100?
Thanks again guys,
Dan
