Just watched this, fantastic film. Sam Rockwell did an amazing job with this. It's a film where the trailer gives nothing away and doesn't do the film justice. A+

Moon is outstanding. It's old-school sci-fi, and I'm glad to see someone pull it off successfully. I'm not sure that it'll be an audio/video showcase given its budget origins, but it's definitely a must-see if you're a fan of hardcore sci-fi.

Haven't seen it...but remember my signature...and the Chinese Space Program? Yep...The first Chopsticks in space are just around the corner.

Obviously, I partially joking--yes I am at the Chinese science academy.(for the year)..but.

Moon sounds like something I should take a look at, Do you think it would be interesting to scientists as well?

Never, ever base your opinion of a film based on someone else. Remember, a film critic is nothing more then a persons opinion, no better then yours or mine. They just got lucky and get their opinion publicized.

True, but I look at it as information. Just as I look at posts on CP. The only question I had was whether to buy it, or rent it. Either way, I was going to watch it, as I like SciFi. However, I do have to say the critics were right about The Day The Earth Stood Still. ;)

My wife and I watched this a couple of weeks ago. We just kept passing it by on the rental shelf until a, "What the hey, let's check it out" moment.

When we initially watched it during our Saturday night "movie night," we turned it off about a third through and went on to another video. This is an unusual action by us. The plot was developing so slowly that we lost interest.

The following Sunday morning was a slow & relaxed, so I suggested to wifey that we try the movie again, picking up on where we left off.

Wow! That turned out to be a very good movie. The plot was just slow to come together, but everything sure did. It made my "buy" list. Woo Hoo, I shagged it today! :D

A great movie to check out, but you have to be patient with the plot build up.

I loved this flick. Especially impressive considering it was done on a relatively small budget.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

I was a little disappointed with "Moon". It's a decent flick but it was just too obvious to me what was going on. Rockwell did a reasonably good acting job and it was filmed well, but the plot just left me wanting.

A good rental but a marginal purchase.

    6.5/10

    YMMV

Watched this last night on the Netflix instant queue. I thought it was pretty good. It did start off slow but finished up nicely.

    Rear - RTiA3's

Excellent acting. You don't get to see many movies with just one actor these days (excluding people on the videos), and he did an outstanding job.
The movie, just so so. At some point it became way too predictable.

Nope. The movie was about tubes. They sound good....but you know sound degrades by the hour, and your ears get used to this.

Wow, I agree with Ron for once. I really enjoyed this one too.

Unbelievable movie. Enjoyed it immensely. Sam Rockwell's performance was outstanding.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. I just watched this, excellent flick. It had a bit of the feel of Source Code with a subject matter similar to The island. There are some areas of criticism as with any other movie, but a very good film.

The soundtrack by Clint Mansell is worth picking up. Very atmospheric instrumental pieces.

This was a weird flick. Good, but weird. Creepy as hell. Reminded me of both 2001, and The Sixth Sense, with a little Sphere thrown in.

Best Keith Moon style drummer ever, really.

    Uh, what???

Keith Moon once, famously, opined that he was "the best Keith Moon-style drummer that I know of."

Some of us assumed that the titular Moon of this thread was the late, great Keith Moon.

I watched it a few months ago, had never even heard of it.
I had just watched "Choke", so I thought I'd check out another Sam movie.
I really enjoyed it, good space flick!

Was choke as terrible as it looked?
