I would say that is a pretty good price. You could offer a little lower. Those are the most sought after CRS design. Go Go Go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ScottI like speakers that are bigger than a small refrigerator but smaller than a big refrigerator:D -
Grab them now. Just remember that your setup for CRS's is more precise to get the best sound.engtaz
I love how music can brighten up a bad day. -
Definitely worth the asking price but as always offer a little less.
-
Go for it Larry that is a good price and you can do the 4.1 TL upgrade to them.
-
Denver and Phoenix has alot of sda's.
-
Plus they are the easiest and cheapest SDA's to ship if you want to sell them.
Get them for your birthday LOL. -
I am very happy with mine (these look like CRS+ right?). I paid less with stands but as I often think and say I'd be quite happy at twice the price I paid!Polk Audio RTA 12c's, Monitor 7c, Monitor 5JR+, SDA CRS+

I can't tell from the pics, but I think those are blade/blade CRS+'s since they are 1987/1988 versions. The TL upgrade was designed for the pin/blade version.Political Correctness'.........defined

I think you are right about them being blade/blade models. About the TL mod on them, what exactly is the difference between the CRS+/SDA 2B with dual blade vs. the same model with pin blade? I have a pair of 2B's with dual blade IC and the crossover appears to be the same as on the pin/blade.

Stubby, I knew someone was going to ask....
The blade/blade version has a 2.7 ohm resistor in series with the 0.4mH coil that is not used with the pin/blade version. A simple fix by removing the resisitor. However, the blade/blade version uses a different SDA driver and assoicated circuit. Therefore, some concern is raised as to the balance of the sound if one were to do the TL upgrade on the blade/blade version. Who feels like being the guinea pig?Political Correctness'.........defined

Thanks for the info!! Maybe after I get done sorting out the SRS 2's, I will try my luck with TLing the 2B's.

Stubby, I missed that you were asking about 2B blade/blade speakers. I thought you were asking about CRS+ blade/blade.
Your 2B's do not have the second 2.7 ohm resistor I mentioned, so all you need to do is add the 5.8uF cap and change the tweeters to RD0198-1's.Political Correctness'.........defined

So....just looking at the pictures, does anyone suspect he listened to them in that position?

I have the pin/blade version. Can you direct me to/provide me with a complete shopping list for the TL upgrade?

The mod is easy to do, simply add a 5.8uF cap in the C5 position and change the tweeter to the RD0198-1. Of note, the bottom lead of the 5.8 cap has to go into the hole marked "H", the top lead goes into the top C5 hole next to R2.Political Correctness'.........defined

Sometimes it is difficult to find a 5.8 value cap available "off the shelf". I think many people talk with the fine folks at Sonicaps and custom order their nice caps. I believe its only a buck extra.
