I think the Iggles were pre-mature in extending McNabb's contract

Been to both. Love New Orleans. It has nicer people and more soul than Philly on any day and especially night. If you don't like it, don't come down. We won't miss you. Believe me.

    I'm happy for you.

I know we are still stinging over the stomping we took by a team built to beat the eagles. (My opinion) the season wasn't half bad, being that they are a shell of what was built last July. I honestly, didn't expect this much with so many injuries. I mean, trotter as the starting mlb. Thats really reaching haha

Curiosity - I like to pose this questions to folks that call for a change of McNabb or Reid. Replace them with who? I for one prefer the competative team year in and out vs the cellar dwellers for years always talking about rebuilding lol

I'm sure Vick would be one, he wasn't really a good qb before. The oline sucked, 99% of qbs would have had the same fate

McNabb held onto to the ball too long in those situations where the pocket collapsed.

Have to agree with ya there, couple of times i wish he would have just taken off running. With all the pressure and receivers locked down, might as well run with the damn thing.

I'm assuming he was hoping one of the play makers would spring free. Trying to give him benefit of the doubt :)

Unfortunatley I think it was more "deer in the headlights" syndrome which he seems to get this time of year.

In any case, The Saints will be waiting for either of them.

Yeah the Saints ALMOST went undefeated. 13 games in a row! Almost...

Die hard Jets fan here, but have lived in the heart of Philly country for the last 8 years. I've followed them, and here are my impressions (Non biased, mind you).

I had a lot of respect for the organization the way they handled the Terrell Owens situation. He was a godo player, and a whiner. I liked that they took a stance and stuck to it, even though he whined and whined. I think, although a lot disagree, that they are better for it. I hated the stance they took with Vick and I lost all respect for them as an organization. And them electing him most courageous was the straw that broke the camels back.

When looking at the team, a lot on talk radio (I listen 97.5 all day and night) think it's McNabb, many think it's Reid. I blame Reid. I think he's an average to perhaps above average head coach, and a below average GM. I think, and have thought for some time that you need balance. Every once in a while (Like 3 times a year) He balances the run and pass, and they usually win. They don't even TRY, even when the pass is FAILING. I can't blame all that on McNabb...especially when a defense can key in on the pass like that. I used to think that screen's took the place of the passes, but they don't even have a decent screen game. Perhaps that's because the O-Line is subpar...a bunch of under achievers, although they have their moments. I don't dislike Donovan, but don' thtink he's a good leader of men. I believe many see him as the leader of the team, and he's not. B Dawkins was a leader, and they got rid of him for absolutely NOTHING (Awful move in my view). Right now, they have no leadership from the players. Reid, I think, is a good leader of the men, but think he's subpar when it comes to actually coaching the game. They come in with a gameplan, and if it goes awry, it's just the same old crap.

I thought, all year, that they were worse than their record...and I thought this would happen to them. I don't think the Eagles will see it as a wake up call to remove Donovan. Reid is there, Donovan is Reid's man, so he will be there next year, then it's Kolb. If it were men, I wouldn't have taken either of them back last year, but if I had to choose one, it would have been D-McNabb with a different system. By next year, they may actually have had a chance.

Very good points! BUT UGH! on the next year comment. I've been hearing "next year" since 1960. I believe the Eagles have singlehandedly caused me to have to take stomach medicine.:D;)

If that's the case, Reid should let Kolb out of his contract so he can somewhere where he can have an actual career instead of having to sit on the sidelines and watch them f$^* it up week after week. QB, O-line, receiving corps, doesn't matter. Put Kolb on the market and give the kid a chance.

I think the Redskins should make a play for him.

I wouldn't expect his hardheadedness highness Reid to say anything else. How depressing.

Reid said it....but apparently Jeff laurie refused to comment...they're the ones with the money, and apparently Reid isn't GM anymore, they hired a non football person (Figures). Makes it sound like they may look to get out of it.

I really don't think the whole thing is McNabb's fault, nor will tossing him alone fix the issue. He's a reasonably decent QB, you got lots more to work on before you start thinking about the QB position.

From the few times I've seen him, he's seems like a relatively classy guy.

I also have no issue with the pickup of Vick, I think it's been good for him and the team.

I'm with you there. The offense has been high powered for years. Scored the most points in francise history this year, with a patchwork oline and still the debate is the offense. Im sorry, but your offense shouldn't need to score 30 points every week to win consistently.

What about a beatup defense that couldn't stop a pop warner league team LOL . Playing defense is half the game.

I love my eagles, and they far exceeded my expectations with the patchwork team they had to put on the field every week. Injuries happen, the cowboys very healthy and that makes them scary at this time of the year.

Love or hate Reid, the dude is a winner as the record consistently indicates one of the most successful francises for the last 10 years (his game time blunders are very frustrating). Owner would be a dope to give up the money he puts in the seats by winning games. I much prefer being in it and having a shot with something to get excited about every week/year than those teams that are "rebuilding" year after year with 25% empty stadiums.

Pyro - Have to disagree on the Donavan not being a leader. I'm not saying he is, but without being in the locker room, I cant say that hes not. The rhetoric they spout on 97.5 at times is retarded, but guess its there job to stir up ratings

Bdawk - My favorite, HOWEVER, he was a shot player LOL. 1st 4 games last year number 20 was always trailing where he used to be on it. They restructured the defense to hide that fact by making him more of a lb/s and he shined. However, there was still no safeties to stop the known passing downs. Nigtmares of that Arizona playoff game last year, defense couldnt stop the pass when they needed to, still all the talk after the game was Donavan and Reid need to go :)

Regarding being a leader, I think there's credibility in the stance that he very rarely (Until lately) took responsibility for the negativity of the Eagles, and a number of times, deflected it by blaming others. Last year, talking about the defense, this year, the team showed their "Youth". Now, I'm not a 97.5 fanboy...I know quotes can be taken out of context etc., but Brady, Manning, NEVER say those things...it's always, "I could have played better and I will". I am also judging it on personality. He seems like a fun, goofy guy. Maybe that lends to my judgement too, sometimes he just doesn't seem that serious about it all...but I could be wrong about that.
