Thief of Auschwitz Sign Confesses ...

A thirty-four year old Swedish **** is the culprit, and the willing informant, it seems.
Former neo-**** Anders Högström has come clean in the Swedish media about his part in the theft and subsequent recovery of the "Arbeit Macht Frei" sign from the Auschwitz death camp.

Perhaps the buyer will be getting to find out if Arbeit Macht Frei for themselves soon, doing the prison laundry ... (for wanting to deal in stolen goods).
Högström in 1994 founded the National Socialist Front, a Swedish neo-**** movement he headed for five years before quitting.

After leaving his party, he distanced himself from the movement and became a model citizen, joining an association called Exit which helps youths quit far-right movements, Aftonbladet claimed.

The National Socialist Front was dissolved in late 2008.

Some are still trying to remove any evidence of what happened. In a hundred years from now, maybe sooner, it will be debated if it was real or made up. A shame.

It's weird to think that photographic evidence, written records and (dwindling) eye-witness accounts are all dismissed as part of some elaborate hoax.

    Stupid.

And the fact that people still have these groups based on how much better they are than someone else based on anything but actual merit is about as moronic as it gets.

Sorry if I've offended any Neo-****'s out there. I'm sure you guys like to listen to good speakers too... But do something difficult and try to love everyone instead of taking the easy way in life by excluding everything and everyone that you are too lazy to rid yourself of your ignorance over.

I've heard in Germany it's illegal to deny the holocaust happened and you don't get to pass go and go directly to jail.

    Anyone know if that's true?

I'm not sure if you don't get to pass go, since I can't see how you would go to jail without a trial, but yes, it is illegal AFIK.
A new set of EU guidelines to toughen up national anti-racism and hate crime laws was passed in 2007.

Those new guidelines will commit all 27 EU countries to impose criminal sanctions against people or groups that publicly incite violence or hatred against other groups or persons based on race, color, religion, descent or ethnic origin.

The guidelines also recommend EU nations impose prison sentences of up to three years for those convicted of denying genocide, such as the mass killing of Jews during World War II and the 1990s massacre in Rwanda. That rule would apply only to genocides that have officially been recognized under statutes of the International Criminal Court.

I see, jail time is only "recommended", not mandated. I also like "genocides that have been officially recognized under statutes of the international criminal court."

To me,this verbage leaves it open to be debated in the future or should I say, recognized in the future. Anytime I see the word "international", I think corrupt. Much the same as the United Nations.

I look at school books today, and it's not so much whats in them, than whats not. Alot of history is being left out in hopes that time will erase all memory I suppose. I pray time will not erase the horrors of Germany's past.

They are very sensitive about it, as well they should be, and the neo-nazism that surged whenever the East was annexed. I don't know if there's a litmus test like going to jail for verbally denying it.

Pretty sure there was a lawsuit about selling **** memorabilia on ebay there.

Well, 12 years ago, Europe, including Germany, turned a blind eye to the genocide that the Serbs were perpetrating in former Yugoslavia. Not to make a Bill Clinton bully pulpit, but he was the guy who pushed NATO going to neutralize the Serbian aggression.

As Slavs, the Serbs were favored by Russia, which is also Slavic. Ironically, the Muslim Croats they were raining holy hell down on were the ones who were the German allied paramilitary in WW II, the guys who did the Germans dirty work in then Yugoslavia rounding up and executing Jews and Gypsies, and to a lesser extent Slavs, commies, etc.
