The reason why Texas did so poorly is because they got bad karma ... from me!

Some dude in a black Escalade, with all the bling on it and Texas plates, pulled right in front of me and cut me off today in Pasadena before a light, with no turn signal in sight (which at least helps, IMO). I was in the right turn lane, he was not. This was just blocks away from where the game was to be held, but hours before it was due to start. I remained calm, didn't honk him or anything, but I did think that this was no way to treat a venerable old 1994 Chevy Silverado like mine, with 200K on the clock.

Sure enough, as he turned right at the light, having forced me to stand on the brakes to let him in, I could see enough through his black windows to notice that the reason there was no turn signal and an obvious lack of attention to where he was going was because he was holding his phone to his ear. Get bluetooth already, if you're going to drive like that! Oh, and by the way, it's illegal to use a phone without hands free in California.

So that's where the bad karma came from. I apologize to any Texas Polkies that have had to endure the result of my bad karma.

You Californians. Did you forget to also mention that you could tint your windows, except that you could not tint any window but the front? What is the use of that? I agree with the hands free thing and I wish it applied all other places as well.

Do you mean here? If so, I'm not sure it's true, since my truck has an extended cab, and is all OEM from new. The windows are all dark tinted (side and back) on the extended part, but not the front of the cab.

I'm no expert on the matter, since I prefer a working air conditioner with enough guts to dark tinted windows (which also make everything look like a pimp mobile to me), but there are plenty of vehicles here with the dark tint on the rear and sides.

I wish McCoy had not gotten hurt. I think it would have been a better game. I'm not convinced there would have been a different outcome, because I think Bama would have been forced to play full tilt the whole game rather than the clock control crap they did in the second half.

Wow, Colt McCoy must be a first-round draft pick if he didn't play in this game...

I was glad to see that Texas at least tried to make a game out of it, would have been easy to lay down and die losing your QB and being down like that at half.

I was impressed by the Texas freshman QB. He was very rattled during the first half, but managed to make a few plays later. Yes, I am considering the fact that 'Bama wasn't going all out at that point. Being a Razorback fan I was definitely pulling for 'Bama. Well, I always root for Arkansas and anybody playing Texas. I'm sorry, but I still hold a grudge from the SWC days. :D I didn't want to see Colt get hurt. I think a game of that caliber should be a tooth and nail game and a team requires it's stars to do that. I absolutely believe that Texas still would've lost.

All the talk about the SEC being overrated amazes me. What's that...the last 4 BCS Championships have been won by an SEC team? How's that for overrated? I'd like to see all the Big 10, Big 12, and PAC 10 teams play a top tier SEC team each year. That would end that foolish talk.

The SEC has won 6 of the 12 BCS Championship games. The SEC has not played in a BCS Championship game and lost. It could have very easily been 7 of 12 because there is a reasonable chance the unbeaten (13-0) 2004 Auburn team could have beaten either USC or OK that year. There is no way the SEC is overrated.

The real national championship game this year was the Alabama-Florida game.

    Seriously?

Bama beat Florida 32-13, outgained them in yardage 490-335, won time of possession 40:00-20:00, and Florida had no turnovers.

Bama beat Texas 37-21, were outgained in yardage 276-263, won time of possession 34:00-26:00, and Texas had five turnovers.

Not to even mention it was a 3 point game, Texas ball with 3:00 left. Great play by Bama to blitz and force the turnover to put the game away. Bama's final drive was 27 yards with less than a minute to play. I'm not suggesting they ran up the score, but taking a knee wouldn't have been out of the question in that situation. But they didn't, Texas didn't stop them, and the final score looks a little worse than the game really was.

From all this you draw the conclusion that Florida would automatically beat Texas???

Alabama went into a shell on offense almost the entire 2nd half and lost some momentum that let Texas back in the game. They were relying on their defense, but they were on the field too much in the second half because the offense was content to just run a little clock. That is the reason it was close with 3:00 to go.

Florida's defense was not as good as Alabama's this year but it was pretty good. FL supposedly was down a couple of offensive playmakers from last year but they still had a better passing attack than AL and Tebow. Florida would have never laid back and played the clock. Having seen FL and TX on several occasions I am convinced FL would have beat TX. Everyone was talking about what a great game FL and Cincy was going to be...and you saw what happened. Cincy was supposed to score a lot of points against the FL defense...they didn't...and I don't think TX would have either...even with McCoy.

Yes...IMO...this year the winnner of the SEC championship was going to be the BCS champion...either way.

BCS = **** College Standings! What a joke this ratings system is....Playoff system is the only possible way to come close to finding a true National Champion.

And to add to that IMHO their is no way to actually find the real champion because any team can step up at anytime and beat another team, at the division I level or in the pros.
Most of them only hear how loud it sounds, and the rest of us hear everything else -
